Post by Lady tehMa »

and what reviews would you give it?

I have yet to find a negative review, the above is a well balanced one.

I have one that I bought second-hand. For what I have used it for, I like it; however, I haven't used it nearly enough yet. My only complaint is that the slow cooker feature takes far longer to cook than my actual crockpot.

While I don't have this particular brand, I love my pressure hot pot. It's quick and easy, but the only trouble I have is trying to adapt the Instapot recipes to the times on my pressure cooker.. Everything still tastes great. Bye, bye crock pot!!

I've been considering an instapot for a while now.

An honest review.

So do you have to be Blonde to operate one of these pots?

We need a bigger kitchen to hold all the gadgets we have now!

We have a pressure cooker, big slow cooker, little slow cooker, multi cooker, rice cooker, popcorn popper, meat slicer, toaster, microwave, Kitchen Aide mixer, toaster oven, etc! And then there is our RV with more stuff.

Is there a pattern here? We have too much stuff!

I have an Insta Pot - the one shown in the videos. I like it. Fewer pots & pans required means less cleanup. Also less storage needed vs having separate slow cooker, pressure cooker, etc.

For beef roasts, pre-heat it, toss in a roast to sear the sides, then switch modes, add stew stuff and liquid. Pressure cook the rest and stew is ready pretty quick. One dish.

What I don't like is having to check the instructions to remember what all the buttons do. But that's my own fault ;)

I don't know where to get instapot. I'd like instapot. Growing it is such a pain in the rear!
Haha. Another thread where the head line is conjures another mental image. ;)
Would so rather be over educated that a knuckle dragging Neanderthal bereft of critical thought and imagination. Although in the case of Neanderthals, that's quite the insult.

I was thinking the same thing....perhaps a MMJ fast delivery service? Same hour delivery for all of your medicinal needs.

I got one at best buy, liking it so far :D

Rice cooker and crockpot are away - which amounts to loads more room in my kitchen. My crockpot has 3 bowls for which size of thing you want to cook. Husband hates meat done in the crock pots so I more often would make oatmeal or desserts, or chili. All of which I can do in the Instant Pot. I do love the easy cleanup.

I think today I make chili. We'll see how the "dried beans to chili" works. I like having dried foodstuffs versus canned, but the plan ahead and soak is a weak point of mine :p

I saw a box for an Instapot at a yard sale. It was empty so I asked where it was in the sale and the guy says, "it's in the kitchen, we're using it." WELL! Don't tease us by putting an empty box out buddy!
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

The chili was amazing. Cook time was about 2 hours - from dried beans!

My husband (whose response to chili is usually *meh*) asked for seconds and actually said "This is really good"!

I have discovered online communities dedicated to Instant Pot, and recipies. There is no shortage of them. I belong to two facebook communities now, and this weekend I hope to have time to plan some menus in advance.

It is true something can cook in 10 minutes - but if it is on pressure setting it takes about 30 minutes to get to pressure.

I can definitely see using this a lot, especially in the summer :)
