My Mom used to make a delicious crab dip (I still make it) and store it it the freezer for Christmas entertaining.
I would sneak it into my room and eat it with potato chips. She was really *bleep* at me when she would go to get some out and it was all gone! lol

Between this and the grill, we've rarely gone out to eat. BBQ baby back ribs, so good. Roast chicken, yum, cheesecake,to die for. The browning feature is handy to sear the meat first. Also, loving the Cookina sheets on the BBQ. We can make breakfast, grilled sandwiches, fried rice, etc, without dirtying extra pans.

The pressure cooker XL worked out great for me. Very simple to use and cooks almost everything under the sun. If I compare it with instapot, the instapots are a bit sophisticated.

I goofed yesterday when doing hard boiled eggs. I forgot them and they sat in the pot foe almost 2 hours before I took them out.

They were just fine.

I love that feature! So does my best friend. She has actually exploded eggs when forgetting them on the stove - they boiled dry and burst with a loud bang.

I cooked a whole chicken in the pot last night and as long as you don't want crispy skin it turned out really good.

I brushed the breast side with Olive oil and sprinkled on my spices. then with the pot on saute and up to temp I put some more oil in the bottom and seared the breast side of the Chicken for 7 min.

Then remove and put the insert in place with the chicken on top. Add a cup of water and set manual for 27 min. (I think a bit longer won't hurt at all )

Let it natural release for 15 min then remove and cover while you make the gravy. I used the saute function to add my thickener then removed the pot and put it on the stove to simmer while the potatoes and veggies cooked.

If you prefer a crispy skin then put the chicken under the broiler for a few min.

This was super moist and tasty.

Mac & Cheese has been good (not from the box). I have done rice packs and noodle packs - they're okay. I love being able to walk off without worrying about it boiling over or scorching.

I do eggs at least once a week now.

Mine's not the Instant Pot brand. If I had it to do over, I'd spend the extra $$.

...snip...

This was super moist and tasty.

When I cook chicken in mine, it does come out moist and tasty but there's a different texture. Not quite rubbery, but kind of. Does anyone else find this? (Maybe I'm using the wrong setting, cooking it too long, or something?)
