I have an InstaPot. It isn't something that I use with regularity, but then my cooking routine has been sporadic lately anyway. However, I have used it twice recently to cook potatoes and eggs for potato salad. I love the fact that I can cook the potatoes and eggs at the same time in one pot. The eggs peel quite easily, too. Making potato salad isn't something I usually enjoy, but I can certainly see myself making potato salad more often using the IP. That makes my husband happy, since he loves potato salad!

I think my first test today will be Basmati Rice.

Added...for a first try came out not too bad. I did 1:1 ratio for 5 min cooking time and 10 min natural pressure release. Soaked the rice first and drained.

Re heated some Lasagna my son the chef made at work. I should have given it a bit more time to get hotter but it worked well.

Used it to cook corn from Day's. 2cups H2O 4 cobs and 3 min on manual...Awesome!

Cooked exactly the way we like it and not too hot so as to burn your mouth.

Pork ribs - cooked in pot and finished on grill - amazing! Fall apart in your mouth.

Risotto - fantastic and easy.

Rice pudding - easy and delicious (though next time I'll use a different rice).

Did chili again as well.

I love not heating up the house to get these things!

Sorry about that Bsuds - I haven't been on a lot lately.

I use it minimum twice a week. Some haven't turned out as well as I'd've liked - a whole chicken from frozen I put in for 1.5 hours on the timer - not including time to pressure and natural release - way too much time for it; the chicken was seriously overcooked.

I read on one of the Facebook groups that cooking from frozen you shouldn't change the cooking time because it doesn't come up to pressure until the item thaws anyway. So the time will be longer because of the warm up time being.

Tonight I am going to try Pork (Cubes) in an onion gravy. It is something we have on a regular basis done in a fry pan and simmer for quite awhile to be tender.

The pork was a definite success. Very tender and tasty just a bit too much liquid and I didn't get it thickened to our liking.

I keep potato and tapioca starches on hand, that's what I used for thickening. :)

I made this with short grain brown rice tonight, it went over well. http://pressureluckcooking.com/recipe/instant-pot-hibachi-fried-rice/

I have always used flour to thicken my gravies. Sometimes cornstarch for my Grandson who's Celiac.
I just didn't use enough.

I have cornstarch too, but I like the potato starch for gravies and the tapioca for sweet things. The thing about starches I like is that you can keep adding little by little until you get your desired consitancy. I find it works even with the pot left on "warm" - I scorched stuff trying to do it on "saute" =_=;

Try a free program "Called "Copy Me That".

It will save any recipe you find on the internet with one click. Seems to work well and very handy.
