400 million da Vinci painting

Post by Catsumi »

Wow ! Did anyone else see the auction that just happened? World wide bidders on a Da Vinci painting vying to own it, just for their own pleasure.

It was exciting! I love art!

This is one item that won't be passing through PayPal account.

I wonder who was the very rich, very lucky soul who now owns this masterpiece.

:D

At that price I hope it comes with a house to hang it in.

Jlabute!! Obviously YOU did not watch this exciting bidding fest! What were you doing instead???? Braiding armpit hair? Self tatooing the Mona Lisa onto left buttock?

It was based on a miracle of the finding, cleaning, restoring a rare 600 year old masterpiece by an artistic genius. It was like putting a high producing diamond mine up for auction, and, believe me, it was more thrilling and heartstopping than the Kentucky Derby! This was the highest price a piece of art has EVER fetched in human history.

Yes, I know there are more pressing matters to deal with (robberies, incarcerations, politics, same old, same old) BUT even the dullest must realize that this was an event that we will probably never see again.

And, by the way, the auctioneer himself was hilarious. What aplomb and grace he held center stage while, I am fairly sure, he was filling his pants behind the lecturn. I know I was in the privacy of home.

Whoever purchased this work of art can afford a wall, probably inside a vault, with security features galore. More than likely one of earths finest citizens....perhaps a major drug dealer, leader of an oppressive government, someone who has a license to print money. My bet is on the Chinese guy who has an Amazon-like online shopping gig.

Such an unusual day just went by. Jlabute....you missed it!!!!

Hmm... if I had 400 million that I could afford to just spend, would I spend on this. More then likely not. Whoever it was enjoy.

Added: there is something odd about the painting, just can't put my finger on what it is.

Conpiracy afoot, you say?

It was paint age dated, canvas age dated, world class experts compared brush stroke styles to da Vinci's, authenticated to death, but, just what did they miss? Was this whole episode designed to pick a pocket of the uber rich?

There IS a book in this somewhere Jlabute!

There are way too many things with inflated value in this world.

Think about how many starving people could be helped with the money wasted on Art, Sports, CEO's, Politicians and many other things that are overpriced and overpaid!

That's worked out great for me!
