Peachland Fire
from CastanetForest Ministry firefighters are en route to a small fire on the hill above Peachland.
The fire, estimated to be about 75 X 75 feet in diameter, is burning above Forest Hill Road.
According to one Castanet reader, there are some homes below.
The fire is outside Peachland Fire's jurisdiction, prompting a call to forestry.
Castanet has a reporter heading to the scene. She has noticed at least one lightning strike in the general area.

Re: Peachland Fire
All the rain is landing on Peachland, while many of the lightning strikes are landing on Mt. Drought (Glenrosa.) I woulden't be suprised if a fire started around here. I'll be keeping an eye out.
About 3 lightning strikes per minute here in West Kelowna.

Re: Peachland Fire
It's getting very windy in Kelowna right now, not good for fire crews.
I don't give a damn whether people/posters like me or dislike me, I'm not on earth to win any popularity contests.

Well it's raining now in Westbank/West Kelowna area, which is good for the strikes hitting the ground.

Just on the side of the hill just where the new road starts outside of Summerland.
