Saying good-bye...

Post by Sige »

...my poor Mahli-girl is 13 years old. She's a lab-foxhound cross and the best pup I have ever known. We have to have her put down this morning and my heart is breaking </3

The hardest thing I have had to do was put my dog down. Hugs and sympathy to your house.

Thanks everyone...we took her in as planned and the vet has convinced us to try her on a 3 day anti-inflammatory/pain combo. This all started because she was chasing after a squirrel and went around my dad's chicken coop but didn't come around the other side. When we went to see where she was, she was laying on her side, unresponsive.

Long story short, he seems to think she may have hurt herself. So. We're giving the drugs 3 days to see if it helps any. The vet has promised us that if she's no better by Saturday he will make himself available to us if we needed him.

Wish us luck and thanks again for your care xo

Keeping my fingers crossed that the meds work and you have more time with your girl. Let us know. Hugs.

Aww...she's so beautiful Sige! Most vets won't try to talk you out of your decision if they feel there is no chance of more quality time for your dog. Our old girl made a miraculous turn around after being on anti-inflammatories, and lived several more years.
Hope everything works out for the best for you and her.

Don't take my silence to mean I've agreed with you; I easily could've just lost interest in explaining how wrong you are.
