Unwanted Cat around Residence

Post by mee-mo87 »

Hello!

I have a friend with a cat problem... She has recently noticed a cat hanging around her house, heard it (or a couple cats) fighting on the side of the house, and now it is leaving its kills outside her place. She went outside with her dogs Saturday and the cat was on the patio table, stood up and actually hissed at them...

Needless to say, its extremely upsetting to her 2 yorkies & herself as she is intimidated by the cat, and isn't sure how to deal with it.

She had thought to trap it and take it to the SPCA until its owner came for it, but when we called the SPCA and they weren't helpful, just suggested deterrents to scare it away but nothing more. Let the wild be wild...?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or advice for this situation... We don't want to harm the cat, just keep it away from the house for good.

Critter Ridder (product) was suggested but what about her 2 dogs? That would affect them too wouldn't it?

Thanks for your time!

It's pretty easy to hook up a motion sensor to a sprinkler system.
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

Cats do not normally go close in where there are unknown dogs, no matter what size or breed.
So saying that I wonder if your friend has recently moved to this home and if possibly the cat was a resident who got left behind? If so maybe they can contact the former owner who might be overjoyed to find their cat and come and get it.
