Its been a nightmare right from the start, I and many others I am sure cannot even access their ads to do any editing or delete them once their item has sold. I have emailed and called Castanet numerous times regarding this issue and nobody replies back. Obviously they dont have a clue whats wrong. Castanet should have left things alone with the old format, it was easy to access your ads , edit , delete , relist them, etc without any issues.
After logging in, can you try going to the "My Ads" link? Do you see a list of your ads? If so, click on the edit icon to make changes to a particular ad. To delete or cancel and ad just click on the check-box beside each ad you wish to cancel or delete and then click on the "cancel selected" or "delete selected" buttons.
Let me know you need any further assistance.

Re: Castanet classifieds
Hi Troy. I go to My ads after logging in and nothing, I dont see any ads that I have posted. The ads are listed I can see them in the directory listing but not in my account. I have clicked on All Ads , Active Ads and Inactive Ads and nothing showing. As mentioned before since this new format I have not been able to view any of my ads in my account.

Re: Castanet classifieds
I believe the classifieds need to go back to the option of how many ad's per page. It was like 12 or 24 for choices. 10 ad's per page is not enough. Some categories have 37 pages.
I think it should be a minimal of 24 or even 30 per page. I listed an item and in 8 hours it was on the second page. After 7 days it will be back 10 pages.

It should be like most other sites, a choice of 20, 30, or 50. You spend a lot of time flipping pages. Some even offer a hundred ads per page.

The option for changing the number of ads per page is coming soon - hopefully sometime this week.

Ok 25 Minimum will be sweet but option of like 50 or 100 that would be killer.
I also believe before people didn't even know how to change it because the little window that says you can change it was so small. Make it big enough so some newbie castanator's or hard of seeing will manage to figure it out also.

there is probably no one on right now. you can email them here: classifieds@castanet.net
we don't have anything to do with the ads.

Castanet ads
Just wanted to know if this happens to everyone else if responding to an ad in classified. Many ads do not give a phone number but just an email or contact seller info. I don't know how many times I have sent off a message about their ad and never get a response but the ad stays up for days/weeks. How do people expect to sell their stuff if they never answer the email I send them. Very frustrating.

Re: Castanet ads
Yes it is frustrating - specially if you need said item. when you respond it sends an email message - so if the seller isnt checking email then message will not be recieved. For me I HATE when people say no emails when advertising online. I mean if you dont want emails use the paper to advertise then!!!

Re: Castanet ads
Unfortunately the whole process is riddled with idiots from sellers to buyers.
I've simply accepted it as a sign of how self absorbed people are these days.
I mean if you're running an ad it would only make sense to monitor your emails and if you don't post as much in your ad.
If you've sold your item take the whole thirty seconds it requires out of your life and delete the darn ad so you aren't bothered by potential buyers asking questions, and you don't waste their time.
If you have no intention of picking up an item why bother phoning a seller and go into a whole sob story begging them to hold it for you?
I resort to a very simple process of money talks and the first one to show up with it wins.
Oh and I might also state that it's obvious a lot of people out there need to look up the definition of the word "firm".

Re: Castanet ads
Yes, an option to search by year is being worked on for the Vehicles categories. It should be complete fairly soon.

Re: Castanet ads
How about a little icon beside the messages tab or a pop up if you are on Castanet to know that you have a message. I don't always check my emails right away but always have Castanet open.
