Missing PM's and deleted posts.
I seem to be noticing that my PM's to other folks are sitting in my outbox for an unusual amount of time. I've also noticed that some of my posts are deleted within seconds of me posting them...so quick that it would be impossible for someone to have reported them. I just got a reminder message in my hotmail telling me that I had a castanet PM, it even showed the body of the message. Yet it was no where to be found in my castanet messages. Is there a glitch in the system, is anyone else having these issues or is big brother really watching that closely?

I don't know about the rest of it, but a PM you send will sit in your Outbox until the receiver reads it. That one used to get me, too.
Is your PM Inbox full? It only holds 100 messages. Then it queues the new ones until you make some room for them. I created folders for the ones I want to save - usually ones with phone numbers, email addies or street addresses in them. I also save the nasty ones so I can come back to haunt the sender later :1419:
As far as the disappearing posts go, I have no idea on that one. Sorry.

I think I figured out the missing PM's thing. I've sometimes PM'd people and other times emailed them via the little envelope under their name. I'm thinking that the emails don't show up in the sent folder of your PM's. Also, I didn't know that your PM's sit in the outbox until read. Thanks for clearing that one up. I think the disappearing ones could be a glitch because its far too quick for even big brother to notice. It's immediate. It's likely a glitch.

Jo's fast but even she isn't that fast. And she's supposed to be asleep now, too.

No she's not that fast. It disappears as soon as I hit submit so it's not Jo...and maybe she is asleep.

Re: Missing PM's and deleted posts.
As GF pointed out, a PM will sit in the outbox until the recipient opens it, then you will find it in your 'sent' box.
As for disappearing posts, the most common reason for a post to seemingly disappear is a so-called 'feature' of this forum software: If someone posts in the thread while you are composing your response, when you click 'submit', your post will not be posted, instead you get a stupid message that says, in so many words, 'another post was posted while you were composing, do you still want to post?' and if you don't notice this, if you have clicked away because you assume your post had, in fact, been posted, you've lost it, it's gone. This particular 'feature' has caught me many many times, and the air turns very blue when I realize what has happened.

Thanks Jo. I figured it was some kind of software glitch.
