Private Forum: Riposte & Parry

We have a new private forum available.

The Riposte & Parry is a private forum for people who would like to engage in serious discussions about every topic under the sun. 'Serious' is the key word for this forum, as there will be zero tolerance for ridicule and other thread-derailing behaviour.

If you are given access, you will be free to voice your arguments as strongly as you like, but you will need to do so in a reasonably thoughtful and intelligent manner, ie comments like 'that's so stupid' will NOT work in this forum. Personal attacks and off-topic nonsense will not be tolerated. Endless cut-and-paste articles will not be acceptable, although small excerpts from articles can be used to make a point. Smiley faces/emoticons are not permitted in this forum. Quotes need to be used sparingly and carefully, with no nesting.

Think of the Riposte & Parry as a coffee shop or private home amongst friends and family, and behave accordingly.

The rules for this forum will be strict, and applied vigorously, with zero tolerance for broken rules. If you break the rules you will lose access, and it will not be easy, or necessarily possible, to regain entry.

This forum is definitely not for everybody. If you wish to be part of it, you need to contact me privately, and please understand that your past posting style will influence my decision. Please don't take it personally if you are not accepted, it does not mean that you are not in good standing on the board, it simply means that you are not necessarily a good fit for this particular forum.
