All political affliations/hate/love aside

I really hope this works out for BC. There are a lot of people hurting for work and good investments.

Re: LNG Fingers crossed
what we should be doing with the lng is turning it into methanol , and make laws so gas stations can sell it alongside gas , then a real difference can be made in the lives of canadians, instead of prostituting our energy away

Seriously? Did you read the story? This isn't a deal to sell LNG to anyone, this is a deal to give the LNG corporations a tax rate of near zero, which means very little revenue to BC if a deal is signed, which it won't be. Most analysts agree that BC LNG prospects are down for the next couple of decades at least.
As well, I'm not sure how your misguided belief that a deal was actually signed could possibly transfer into jobs for BCers. There are only two countries in the world which manufacture LNG plants; Indonesia and South Korea. The plants are prefabricated in those countries and shipped by their ships to BC, where they are assembled by their TF workers. They even bring their own cooks. Not many Canadian jobs.
If the priority in BC was to use the LNG to create jobs, we should give it away for free. Give it for free for decades to any corporation which relocated to BC and created good permanent manufacturing jobs here. Free LNG for their factories, free LNG for their trucks and ships. Free, free, free, for a time period based on the number of jobs that they create. But unfortunately, the actual LNG goal is not to create BC jobs, but to create international profits for corporations.
Nice dream though.

Petronas is very willing to invest in BC. As long as we give them the gas for next to nothing. Eliminate royalties. Cut their taxes. Allow them to bring in foreign workers to build and operate the system for third world wages. Sounds like Christie's good to go on this deal.
