BC Con President Al Siebring just bailed, says he's too busy to work for the party he was apparently so committed to. Of course it had nothing whatever to do with the Con's infamous infighting. Sure, I believe that... :dyinglaughing: .
I anxiously await ScottSA's spin on this one, should be entertaining to say the least.

I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

Cummins spoke in Kelowna last night and
presented an endorsement of the Northern Gateway pipeline.

Wonder if he also talked about what B.C. stand to lose in the event of a tanker spill. Tourism and fisheries is worth much more than a few hundred jobs maintaining a pipeline.

Good for him. BC needs that kind of industry - it creates a ton of jobs and brings huge money into the Province. Can't build a sustainable economy on a retail industry alone, which is pretty much all BC has left.
But I don't think it matters whether BC wants the pipeline or not anymore - they'll build it to the eastern provinces instead since the other Provinces realize the benefits it brings to their economies.

Big difference building a pipeline across flatlands...
Makes more sense for Canada to send the oil east anyway, Ontario and the others need the jobs badly, and they risk/reward balance is much better. BC would benefit in two ways, one being reduced equalization payments, the other being better markets for BC LNG in Asia (the more difficult their access to oil, the more they will switch to LNG ??).
Mr. Cummins is living in the past on this one..

Here's the Liberals on apprentice training:
In 2002, when the priority should have been to expand trades training, the BC Liberal government ended its involvement in apprenticeship training.
It shut down the Industry Trades and Apprenticeship Commission – a partnership of industry, labour, educators and government.
It imposed an unproven privatized system, governed by industry.
Their risky experiment has been a dramatic failure.
Completion rates have plummeted. From the 1960s through the 1990s, 60 to 80 percent of apprentices qualified for nationally recognized certifications.
By 2011, the completion rate had fallen to just 43 percent.
Conservatives???
