I think that Fletcher was referring to the "Public Sector Labour Relations Act" created in 1994 under the NDP which provided for this dysfunctional provincial bargaining structure. Few would argue with his claim that the NDP would knuckle under to the BCTF far more readily than would the Liberals. Vander Zalm and the NDP have made quite a team, though, in hurting this province.

Funny you would include her in the list of those who have hurt this province since she was the finance minister when the BCTF signed its one and only negotiated contract with any government under the current format. Of course principals and vice-principals got raises too so you wouldn't like that. You're so far out in left field that you're in another ball park altogether.

I'd say her contract was on the generous side and it's just another reason that teachers shouldn't be complaining now. If anyone deserves a raise now it would be administrators who have to step in and do the work of teachers when the job action is happening but we have no money in the kitty for any pay raises for anyone.

It does not matter who is in power the union has them by the short and curlys ,they have TOO TOO TOO much power.The only way it will change is by teachers standing up to the person who gets them raises and benefits. IF we even think to say a bad word about or to teachers , we fear our kid will receive worse treatment.I m convinced only a day of protest will show teachers we support them but hate their evil greedy union :trippyquoter:

I have. Yes, it's an older facility but that doesn't make it a bad facility. It needs to be upgraded when we can afford it and it's too bad we had to pay that $1 billion plus back to the feds when we extinguished the HST or we might have had the money to upgrade Rutland Middle. Oh well.
