Ditto here, didn't know anybody was getting married, especially nowadays, unless the cow stopped given it away for free.

Oddly enough, this isn't a marriage thread, but seeing as we're talking cows and women and marriage, I should drop this baby right here.

States the the rich are marrying the rich and the poor aren't getting married at all. Nothing to do with the birth rate though.

Didn't know about the wedding before you posted and now I've looked it up, I still don't care. At least they had a nice car, but it's a shame she wasn't the one driving.

On May 4th there was a poll in which Castanet readers voted to ditch the monarchy:

Isn't it really time to just move on?

To completely move on means removing a piece of our Constitution, which means opening up a huge can of worms.
Last time any changes was attempted s :cuss: hit the fan.
I want a cut from British monarchy unfortunately crap needed to be done for this to happen would be very high (I'm not talking financial).

Why do we need to keep these ties with the monarchy, I say cut them.

Cuz it's one more thing that separates us from Americans, and has no adverse effect on our daily lives. I say leave it alone.

It has no real benefit either, but it does discourage immigrants from places colonised by the UK as many people would prefer to not declare allegiance to the Queen. To many she represents a cruel, imperial system with a brutal past. Ditching that would be good for us.
