why do the dumb jackass NDP have to release a "costed" platform? That term "costed" just sounds so freaking stupid. How about a platform that cuts spending and cuts taxes, and doesn't involve shutting down all new economic projects? Is that really that hard? Why does the NDP always have to talk about how they are going to increase spending?? What a bunch of moronic dolts. It's time for the NDP to be put in the trashbin of political history.

Why do people who fancy themselves "fiscal conservatives" not scream at hidden debt accumulated in the past dozen years? Or, do they only object to spending on social programs?

I'm waiting for you to admit that Horgan said he likes the Leap Manifesto and is bringing in one of his own.

RWede:

You actually bragged about meeting him and admitting he was a real nice guy. Did you get the impression then he was breathing fire about the LEAP manifesto? I'm pretty sure that would be an issue you braced him on.

So you refuse to accept your favorites own words. What loyalty the NDP inspires.

Until Horgan releases a platform, he owns the leap manifesto imo.

The LEAP manifesto will go nowhere. Shepherd is trying to flog it; Horgan is ignoring the bait because he has made it clear that it is 'not for him.' Yawn issue....

That's what he said last year but he's obviously had a change of heart because we have him on video saying the opposite this year. He says clearly on video that he doesn't disagree with the bulk of the Leap Manifesto and he also promises to bring into BC his own Leap Manifesto. How can you deny the very words that John Horgan is saying on the video? I know that you were astonished when I posted his quote. Well, you simply didn't believe me. Then when someone posted the video of him saying those words you didn't believe it. But then you saw the video and simply didn't (still don't) acknowledge what Horgan says. I bet you wish he hadn't said it but he did say it.

The issue has moved on and while the Libs have tried to provoke him, he's not rising to their bait. It will be a non-issue in the election. Yawn...

I'll go out on a limb here and predict that the video of Horgan saying that he doesn't disagree with the bulk of the Leap Manifesto and promising to bring in his own Leap Manifesto will be heard numerous times between now and May 9th. Yes, it will be an issue.

I've not met John Horgan (nor have I ever met Christy Clark) but he seems like a nice guy to me. He's definitely a better leader for the NDP than Adrian Dix was but I still think that the party should have found someone who wasn't part of the 1990's NDP government and someone closer to the centre. A party that has won the popular vote only twice in the history of the province should be looking to attract a wide range of voters and not be catering to those on the far left.

Having said that, I certainly don't rule out an NDP win. It looks like 50-50 at this point and it will come down to the actual campaign as it did in 2013. We know that Christy Clark is a good campaigner and we're about to find out if John Horgan is as well.
