The only motivation to buy Canadian Real Estate right now is if you are trying to launder money.

Buyer are suckers for buying, and sellers are losing.

Just a friendly reminder that the high prices of crusty old Canadian Real Estate is sucking the life out of Canadian Households.

Look at the debt Canadians have because of Real Estate.
The Canadian Housing Market is merely fueled by desperation, speculation, and corruption...

Much of the pain and suffering just isn't getting told.

Don't trust Real Estate Agents. They have one agenda. Sell, sell, sell. They don't care about you. They aren't your friend.

You have to keep an open mind until it is proven one way or the other. You just can't take the T.V. or internet word on it.

It’s a shame that on the rare occasion when someone posts an intelligent, well written comment in this thread, the rest of you decide that this person must be a liar or an imposter.

I agree Rusty...Domain has tried to enter this thread a few times with pretty intelligent posts and he's been attacked every time by saying he is someone else..

Very interesting to be accused of being some other poster, or of fabricating a story. If you knew me personally, you would know that I don’t possess the imagination to fabricate a story, nor would I make the effort to discard my integrity in such a meaningless manner.

It would be more succinct for you to write “you didn’t see/hear that”. I guess in the absence of reason, one can just plug their ears.

I am only sharing information that comes into my possession, as it relates to real estate in Canada. No, this information isn’t specifically Okanagan-centric, but neither are the effects of a changing character in real estate in Canada. Last I checked, the Okanagan didn’t have their own set of regulations, monetary system, or economic laws. It is useful to know if your neighbors house is on fire, and simply closing the blinds won’t make the flames licking at your eaves disappear into fiction.

Old painted cupboards, very shallow. Washer in the kitchen, dryer in another room. That would get old fast.

A mere $499K? Unconsciousable.

85% for property 15% for house
So much of the violent push-back on everything progressive and reformist comes down to: I can see the future, and in this future I am not the centre of the universe and master of all that I survey, therefore this future must be resisted at all costs.

More like 100% for the lot and 0% for the house. The whole surrounding area will be the next to be re-zoned and turned into mid-high rise buildings. Since this is a corner lot, it is very important to future development.

Meh. Three years later people will be saying "Remember how you used to be able an old house for only half a mil?"

I remember when 10 years ago my friend bought a house in Vancouver for half a mil. He said it was last house in Vancouver for under $500,000. Absolute crack shack on Marine Dr. and Main St. Everybody said he was crazy and it was too much money.

Years later he sold it for $1.4M and set himself up for success later on. And all of us had to get into ownership much later at much higher prices. He was the smart ones, we were the fools.
