Wilson threatens to sue Horgan & Blaney

Postby lasnomadas » Aug 7th, 2017, 9:48 am

According to Mike Smyth in the Province, Gordon Wilson, Christy's LNG advocate has his knickers in a twist because, as federal MP Rachel Blaney put it, "Taxpayers paid $550,000 for what? No notes, nothing tracking the work he had done." Bruce Ralston also had some choice words about Wilson's job performance, or lack thereof.

My question to the BC Liberal party is this: What happened to all those documents Wilson said he sent to your ministers/deputy ministers? Did 'the dog eat them'?

Of course Gord didn't make any reports on paper. If he had have, he would have told Christy that there wasn't a hope in hell that the LNG industry could get off the ground in BC. But then Christy knew that, too, and so did anybody who paid any attention to the world price of natural gas. So Christy just let him stay on the job, collecting his $150,000 per, checking the natural gas markets all over Asia, with Judy at his side, workin' hard, real good and hard, for British Columbia's families.

There was never going to be an LNG industry here in BC. But the lie of jobs, jobs, jobs got the Lieberals elected a coupla times. Mission accomplished.

Between the comment above and this:
maryjane48 wrote:kinda like paying a flunkie 550 thousand to pretend theres going to be lng jobs ?

It pretty much proves that if he can prove documentation was submitted, the comments made by the government have had a real detrimental effect.

First they set up to be sued by Kinder Morgan, and now by Wilson.

How much litigation and compensation will this government have to pay for from poor choices of words?

^^Not nearly as much as the ChristyLiberals have had to pay for their poor choice of actions.
Why do people who fancy themselves "fiscal conservatives" not scream at hidden debt accumulated in the past dozen years? Or, do they only object to spending on social programs?

He will, in court. Horgan ends up sued in 2 weeks. Doesn't take long to end up on the wrong end of the law when you're utterly stupid and completely incompetent. #notmypremier

It's the same when you are stupid.

If he had proof, he would have broadcast it all over the MSM.

Surprised? Wonder how that apology is going to taste?

All-in-all, it’s a disgusting example of sleazy, gutter politics from the very top of an NDP government that promised to do things differently.

So, what has he been doing since January 2015? Perhaps the NDP jumped the gun on publicly shaming Wilson, and indeed they should apologize, but it doesn't change the fact that Wilson was hired by Clark simply to return the favour when he endorsed her in the 2013 election. We have known for years that the export of LNG from B.C. was never going to happen, so that $550,000 that BC taxpayers paid Wilson was a complete waste of money. Why didn't Smyth bring that up in his column?

I think we all know the answer to that question.

It’s extremely disturbing that this new NDP government would so carelessly try to destroy the public reputation of someone without a basic fact check.
Seems to be symptomatic of that side of the argument.

So the NDP fired, without cause and you defend the move? Had they looked before they acted in nothing other than a "Kill the Liberal" manner" they would have been able to proceed without being open to lawsuit.

The fact that people like you still feel like treating him as a crook, or a thief means that the payout will be in the millions, for NO WORK EVER making the tiny 500K a paltry sum in comparison. Why do you support such misuse of taxpayers money due to negligent actions? The fact you will now talk about this person in such a way is the proof a court needs to award such a settlement as well.

After having the NDP themselves admit fault, you only make his case by continuing with the slander. I don't understand the thought process there.

They could have just fired him regardless. Its political par for the course. Its the extra kick saying he did nothing on the way out that's at issue.

^^Yes, in retrospect that's exactly what they should have done. It was a mistake to show their disgust for this former BC Liberal leader/NDP MLA. They apologized, and it's time to move on.

Fair point, it was still a wonderfully stupid way to do it though.
