No change to Philpott fire

Wayne Moore - Aug 30, 2017 / 10:51 am | Story: 205415

Despite statements by the premier that the Philpott Road fire had reached 40 per cent containment, officials with the BC Wildfire Service say nothing has changed during the past 48 hours.

During a stop at the fire Monday, Premier John Horgan told reporters the fire had reached 40 per cent containment. However, fire information officer Noel Kekula says containment remains at just 20 per cent.

Kekula says 15 provincial firefighters worked on the fire overnight, setting small ignitions designed to burn off remaining fuel between the control line and the perimeter of the fire.

Weather permitting, more similar measures will be taken today to get rid of unburned fuel.

Math is HARD, Horgan.

Well he did show up for the photo op but don't expect truth or intelligence when his lips move.
I have never tried Yoga but I bent over to pick up my keys once so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it.

I think you have it wrong, it was 20% when he was here but that didn't sound as good as 40% so he just straight up lied to make himself look better and hoped no one would take note.

He'll get forgiven and applauded the the usuals but reality is the unelected premier just wants to look good, not BE good.

Or perhaps a human being misspoke? Made a mistake?

God forbid that could happen in politics...

Kind of like making the mistake of assuming a flight over a wildfire involves him actually performing some form of mathematical calculation. (MATH is hard?)

Ah I see, when other Premiers do it, well other non NDP premiers they are liars and cheats, but all the BS spewed by Dear Old John must simply have been an innocent error.

Surrey portables to vanish, an error, MSP to go poof-must have misspoke, and on and on and on

Banning corporate donations - misspoke.

Surrey portables - misspoke. Just an honest mistake.

Yet when Premier Clark said something incorrect it was because she was the literal spawn of Satan. [icon_lol2.gif]

Funny... I thought we were addressing the Premier's inaccuracies around his address on the size of a wildfire here.

Wasn't that the OP's topic? I mean, I don't recall reading the thread titled "Horgan Smear Campaign Headquarters".

And, for the record, I am not interested in debating who said what; my point is just as I've written here.

Look, when it comes down to it, all the complaining in the world isn't going to change the current government, folks.

Putting your words into action will; standing up and actually doing something about it will; being a more engaged citizen will; using your 'asdf' digits for more than this forum will; echoing your collective voice will!

You're all obviously very capable of more -- so damn well do more, for crying out loud.

This is your province! They're your legislative bodies! Use them!

And of course there hasn't been follow-through on every campaign promise. How naive can you be?

The NUMBER ONE goal of every elected party is this, and only this: Re-election. Period. If you expect any less, you're no more understanding of the numbers, either.

Broken record threads, kids... Every. Friggon'. Time.
You deserve better. Come on now.
