Abandoned/ Burned House on Cross Road?

Anyways, does anyone else remember that creepy, completely charred wooden building that was on what I think was Cross Road or very near to it? This was a few years ago. I remember as a child my sister and I would walk by it to get to the gas station and she would tell me things like “an old lady burned to death in that house!” But i cannot find a single thing about an abandoned house that used to be near there. Was this even a real thing?? Am I going insane??

The only one that could answer whether this is a real thing is your sister. She is the only one that had that conversation with you and could verify if it was real.
As for your question of whether you are insane, there isn’t enough to make that determination here. You could be. But not necessarily so.

Yes there was a house fire on Cross Road and an elderly lady died in the fire. It would be about where the corner of Glenmore and Cross is now. I think those few cedars near the road may be remnants from the original property. (I could be wrong about that.)

It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

Yes indeed that was a real event.

The place had a pool in the back yard as well.

Thanks everyone! And just so you know, my first thought was to ask her but I have no way to contact her unfortunately.

I think piecemaker is right.
It was a house on a sizeable lot, right where glenmore now intersects.
I think the house was a "quonset" type shape?
I believe the fire happened around mid 2004 ish?
Is the world getting stupider, or is it just getting easier for stupid people to have their thoughts heard?

I wonder if the city had anything to do with it to advance their plans of glenmore road?

I doubt that. If I recall someone perished in that fire.
If the city wanted to get their hooks into it for their expansion plans they woulda offered to buy it and if that failed they woulda expropriated.
