I give up. Who are we "REALLY" insulting? I am curious who you think that is. All we've been doing is stating facts. You lie, constantly. This isn't an insult, it's reality. It's also reality that you never apologize when you are caught lying, or admit others might have a point in any argument. You just go on to the next lie. do not bring other names in here. thx.

Dan Ashton's 1%

What would happen if the poorest 20% of BC people lost $60,000?
- they would die.

What would happen if the middle 50% of BC people lost $60,000?
- they could not afford food. they would not have a place to live. they would sleep on the street.

What would happen if the top 20% of BC people lost $60,000?
- They would buy a Ford instead of a Mercedes. They would take a two week vacation in a five star hotel in Mexico instead of Europe.

What would happen if the top 1% of BC people - the Dan Ashton guys - lost $60,000?
Nothing. They'd still buy real estate. They'd still be 5% richer than they were last year. They'd still
own a $million dollar second home at Whistler.

Way to go Dan Ashton.

An extra tax on those guys ^ - the Dan Ashton guys - would not be a blow to construction workers. It's a lie.

Pity some choose to go through life bitter and envious, when actually we live in a country, that allows you to do the very same things, the top 1% did to attain their wealth.

Why not put forth the effort, join the 1% and then give that 60K you don't care about, to someone you feel is deserving?

Great leaders lead by example.

Forty years ago the BC government gave ALL fruit growers an equal amount of subsidy. per lb. produced.

Now, the BC government is giving only SOME of the fruit growers $5 million in subsidy
while Dan fights for the 1%. That, in my opinion, is crooked.

No matter how much effort you "put forth" these days you won't be joining the 1%.

How do you know? This is the lie baked into all of the "let's hate on everyone who has more than us" gang. For every negative action, there is a negative reaction. You can discount that, or pretend it doesn't exist, but that's just being naïve, and kinda dumb.

I see. So this is about you crying that your government hand-out isn't big enough. That answers a lot of questions.

Yeah something like that. Only by big you must mean - zero. My government handout is zero. But some lucky
BC fruit growers (maybe the 1%) are going to get their share of $5 million this year.

Dan Ashton's wealthy 1% also get lots of government handouts. Want me to start another thread
explaining all the government handouts given to the rich 1%?

A word to the wise........Pay no attention to the jackals on the bickering room. The only reason they're here is because they got banned from the regular forums for screaming "liar!" at anyone who doesn't agree with their nonsensical opinions.

I think what you have also failed to realize is that not only is the top 1% or even the top 10% filled with determined, hardworking, educated individuals that made themselves the way they are now, but the top 10% earned 35% of Canada's overall income and with that the top 10% paid 54% of our countries Federal and Provincial Taxes...

I don't know if this is aimed at me, but I only scream "Liar!" at people who lie. As for nonsensical opinions, I believe Sinead O'Connor wrote a song about that.

departing MLAs now poised to hit a pension jackpot averaging nearly $730,000
(How much will "Dan the one percenter Ashton" get, I wonder? He'll need a lot, so that construction workers can be employed building stuff in his houses.)

But B.C. taxpayers should shed no tears for departing MLAs now poised to hit a pension jackpot - government handout - averaging nearly $730,000 apiece. Throw in former NDP MLA Jenny Kwan and former Liberal MLA Doug Horne — both resigned in 2015 to seek federal office — and the combined potential lifetime pension payout for those leaving is astonishing: nearly $11 million.

Near the top of the pension money mountain stands outgoing Liberal cabinet minister Bill Bennett. The minister of mining has struck gold with a first-year payout of $83,504 in a defined-benefit pension fully indexed to inflation and guaranteed for life.
If Bennett lives to age 80 (and I hope all these ex-MLAs are still going strong when they hit 100), he stands to collect $1.23 million.

So what are you saying? That it should not be zero? That others shouldn't get any hand-outs but you should? BTW - when you start babbling about 1% stuff I just tune out as you sound like another uber-entitled sanctimonious Occupy stooge.
