Best Year Ever for Canadian Tourism

Postby justincase » Feb 25th, 2018, 6:29 pm

A loud shout out to our hardworking, cool former fighter jet pilot, Stephen Fuhr MP and his Ottawa Liberal team for restoring funding and investments back into a decade long-neglected economic industry, Canadian tourism, that our Okanagan constituency depends on so heavily on. The Okanagan now is reaping the rewards!

That's great news. Amazing how this was accomplished with a paltry contribution from an outdated, inaccessible and simply not with the times Kelowna tourism information center. Just think of the numbers they'll post when the new and improved lakefront info center/multi-use/gender-neutral-washroom-equipped/temple of all that is tourism info center is constructed and really drawing them in - providing they're walking there of course.
Forget Cialis, Viagra, or Levitra. When you need to get it up fast - reach for new and improved Westcorp. Proud official suppliers of Basran's *bleep*

No not at all, its a lot of Hostility.
They say we are seriously lacking tourism facilities here... but yet the tourists flock here..
And when the roads can't hold them, Tourism will bring yet even more in..
Think of that when you drive from the Airport to Downtown, or from the Westside .. in This coming summer..
I'd like to help You OUT,
Which way did You come in??

I got ya! There is always room for improvement. Do you remember when we had the old lift-span bridge and in the summer when it would always break down...LOL!!

No - I moved on awhile ago from hostility to just plain frustration, disgust and disappointment. Sorry - didn't mean to hijack the thread, but your post is more a national perspective - and this is local topics, so I couldn't resist. Don't get me wrong - tourism is what made Kelowna what it is, like it or not - and without it, well I'd only imagine where we'd be without it. Probably Lumby or Spuzzum. :)

It's all good brother, we're all in the same proverbial boat!

Who's Dimples? Who's the MP for Kelowna? Both interesting questions that are hard to answer.

Our hard-working Federal representative! Bringing massive amounts of exposure to the Okanagan!

I’ll never understand GB’s continually feigned ignorance about our MP. Just makes the poster look dumb.

He's repeatedly expressed his desire for a conservative dictatorship and complete lack of acceptance of other parties being electable. I mean he tries to spin it as some kind of satire or something but it just looks like crazy.
So much of the violent push-back on everything progressive and reformist comes down to: I can see the future, and in this future I am not the centre of the universe and master of all that I survey, therefore this future must be resisted at all costs.

And I totally understand why no one knows who our MP is for Kelowna. And that's not "feigned ignorance", it's because no one knows who he is. And when it comes to calling other posters "dumb", hello pot meet kettle.

Some people’s memories start to fail them when they get older. I suppose it’s easier for them when one person stays in power for 30 years. Only reason they can even remember Trudeau’s name is because it’s familiar to them from their younger days.

Doesn’t matter how many times you say Stephen Fuhr though, they just come back afterward all “oh who is my representative? I’m so confused and ignorant”

Reminds me of a few years ago in customer service when a customer went on a rant about our PM Brian Mulroney...

That’s actually not true. I recall that back in August-September 2015 GB spent a great amount of time on his keyboard trying to convince the faithful readers of this forum that Harper had reached his expiration date. GB strongly suggested that everyone vote Liberal for various reasons, evidently the majority took GB’s advice.....
We’ve now learned to never listen to GB, all he ever does is lead you down the wrong path.
