Brilliant idea, a gun that is undetected by airport metal detectors (or anywhere metal detector are used in security)..... anyone hear the words hijacked airplane lately in the news.
When you have to start compromising yourself and your morals for the people around you, it’s probably time to change the people around you.

Access to undetectable weapons for mentally deranged psychotics, populist extremists and militants, terrorists - so cool.

The gun may pass through the metal detector, but the ammunition won't.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. You do realize that 3d printed guns kinda suck, right? It's far easier to go buy a real one. And if you want to kill people, you're better off making a home-made bomb.

Complete garbage. Getting better. Just like offshore manufacturing. Give this 20 years. It will be big.
Rite now it is a hobby. Nothing to be afraid of . Personally it raises my intrest in 3d printing. Fixing sunglasses not so much. But to print a working gun. That is Sam Colt cool.

While these are not good for society, I can't see how they can ever be eliminated. Technology will always be ahead of laws. 3D guns are going to accessible to anyone with the internet and a 3D printer. We should still make laws surrounding their possession and use though. This helps create a social stigma and hopefully reduces the risk they may cause.

I'm surprised you support this:

A loaded 3D-printed handgun and a drug laboratory have been found during a raid on a Gold Coast home believed to be linked to outlaw bikies, police say.

I think innocent people getting caught in the cross fire IS a big deal. Maybe a little more thought should go into why 3d printed guns aren't a great idea.

They are probably only good for one, small caliber shot. There would be no rifling in the barrel, so only good for 5-10 feet.

I agree. Fairly useless today. Might save your life though. I forsee metal rifled barrels being mass produced. This will change the way recievers are built. Not barrels
