Yes, look at how many starve to death in Venezuela alone. And don't get me started on North Korea. Or Africa.

Add it all up, 20 million people dying a year because the capitalist system them live under puts profits ahead of their lives.

This is just *bleep*. Pure *bleep*. These 20 million people you are pulling out of your arse, is "capitalism" the only reason they are dying? There is NO other reason, such as corruption, famine etc.? Only "capitalism" eh? It was "capitalism" that lead to millions starving to death in the Ukraine in the 1930's too right? What scares me isn't that you believe this pure nonsense, it's that anyone else would believe something this insanely stupid.

No, I see a poor sad old man, lying his butt off, joining up with really stupid younger people who wish nothing but death and destruction on their fellow man, trying to look cool on an internet forum by spouting alt-left lies. And it's really pathetic.

Tens of millions suffering and dying every year because of the capitalist system failing them.

But let’s ignore the social systems helping people around the world and the success of first world socialist countries to instead use an example of a country which is only 30% socialized to claim socialism is a great evil. Ignoring any possible other factors that could be responsible

Socialism without capitalism will fail. Capitalism without socialism will fail. Professional sports leagues, built on a competitive model; recognize the need for parity to keep their leagues alive. Without public education, welfare programs, roads and hospitals, etc., a purely capitalist system will fail. The partisan extremists from each side who seem incapable of recognizing the need for balance are the ones who keep these crazy polarized battles of misinformation and rhetoric alive.

Seems it is the same few posters who ruin every thread. Yet i remain on the muzzle. Such is life.

Sad this thread was ruined by scumbags. First post in the thread said keep it on topic. Yet somehow it is pages of childish banter with a few news articles thrown in by serious posters.

Just like Venezuela. The socialists ruined it.

Communist ideas have been prevalent in Africa since at least the early 20th century. However, nowhere on the continent was a strict form of communism ever practiced. What were practiced were hybrid forms of socialism, including some that eclectically borrowed from Marxist-Leninist and Maoist theory. Communism is a particular form of socialism.

According to Marxist theory, in its most advanced form, communism involves state control by the working class. However, at least up to this moment in history, nowhere in Africa have there been political and economic systems based solely on communist principles, nor has there ever been a strictly working-class revolution. The terms communism and socialism have come in some places to be used interchangeably. Also, socialism is not practiced exclusively in one type of political system. Most socialist systems today are participatory democracies. What is often referred to as “Marxism-Leninism” rejects participatory democracy in favor of a disciplined, vanguard party in which democracy is practiced only in the central leadership organs of the party. It also involves a rejection of the free market and the private ownership of property.

The first appearances of communist ideas in Africa were introduced by European workers in newly industrializing colonies with a significant concentration of settlers. Such ideas also were introduced to African students in their formal European-based education systems. Between the two world wars, some Africans lived and work in Europe, and this experience produced many of the leaders and intelligentsia who would return to Africa with ideas about how to change their own societies and end colonial rule.
