Latest job figures announced on CTV national ,BC lost 15000 jobs in Jan. They say unemployment numbers are down as people have stopped looking for work because there is none.So much for Christy Clarks jobs plan.

Why does everyone relay on the government to find them work , why are people not more entrepreneurial and create their own job , same with people graduating from post secondary , think outside the box and create your own business.

You know as well as I, he will release his platform when it is time to do so,and if you pay attention to anything but liberal propaganda you have been given hints to what the NDP will do for job creation in this province.Other than that, guess it sucks to be an impatient one.Pressure your beloved Christy Clark to call an election and you will find out.

Because in BC, it's damn near impossible to build a profitable business.

Everyone I know who has tried to build their own business in BC has failed, myself included. Certainly not for lack of trying either - had a 7 year run myself, only 1 of which was profitable.

The biggest obstacle is that nobody makes any money, so everyone is cheap. And when businesses are out there pricing jobs below cost just to keep their guys working, it's impossible to compete.

BC is not a good place to find a job, earn a decent wage, or build a business.

I disagree Frosty , I think there is still lots of oportunity in BC . BC just has to stop giving the unions everything, these long term debt commitments are killing us .

BREAKING: Dhaliwal out as Liberal candidate in Surrey
SURREY/CKNW (AM980)

Sukh Dhaliwal is stepping aside as the BC Liberal Party candidate in Surrey-Panorama.

He'd been considered a star candidate for the Christy Clark Liberals...but he's also facing a string of tax evasion charges.

He was apparently notifed of the charges back in November, but only informed the party this week, once the story broke.

Very good. So any blathering about how it reflected badly on the Liberal Party should be put to rest.

It is still a curiosity that goes deeper into party behaviour than just him withdrawing as a candidate and expecting it to remove any reflection on the party candidate selection process, considering...

"The charges were sworn by a Surrey justice of the peace on Oct. 15, 2012 according court records obtained by The Sun.
Two weeks later, the B.C. Liberals announced that Dhaliwal would be their candidate for Surrey-Panorama in the upcoming provincial election.

Dhaliwal made a first appearance on the charges in Surrey Provincial Court Nov. 26 and was arraigned Dec. 17. The case was before a Surrey judge three times in January. And it is again in court today to fix a date."

I find it difficult to believe that no one in the party became aware of the situation over all that time. Much easier to believe they tried their best to keep it hushed up.

It reflects very, very badly on the Liberals... They anointed him a candidate TWO WEEKS after charges were sworn!! And they have been hoping against hope that nobody would find out. Sukh's good friend Christy undoubtedly knew THEN and what has she done about this even since the story broke by Kim Bolan? NOTHING!!!

Excerpted from Kim Bolan's column Feb. 7:

The charges were sworn by a Surrey justice of the peace on Oct.

And it is again in court today to fix a date.

B.C. Liberal campaign director Mike McDonald said in an email that Dhaliwal “has made us aware of issues concerning a company in which he is a director and will be keeping us up to date with his progress.”

“He disclosed the matter and has assured the party that he is working to resolve it as expeditiously as possible and fully intends to fulfil any and all obligations,” McDonald said, without providing details of when the party was informed by Dhaliwal.

The bottom line is that he is no longer a candidate. The right decision was made.

Dhaliwal would have been hoping to all ends he may have been able to fix or make this go away. HE hasn't and now everyone knows, taking him off as a candidate is the right move now that the Liberals know. I assume you know the intimate personal financial details of every one of your friends?

Didn't think so.

Came to light, he's no longer a candidate, that's all any party can do about things when they aren't informed of private issues like these. This is a Dhaliwal issue and he is out because of it.

Funny that the liberals acted and removed someone doing wrong when it came to light, but Dix just allowed his candidate to steal and when caught the NDP are simply saying "pay it back and all is forgiven"

But now we are left to wonder how many more Sukh Dhaliwals are still with the party...... the multitude of scandals that have erupted just in the past year are proof that the Liberals are not fit to govern and have not been fit to govern for most of the past decade!!

The Liberals turfed this guy while the NDP chose their law-breaker as the guy to lead their party! Incredible really. This does show that the two parties respond to law-breaking in different ways. One rewards the law-breaker with the leadership while the other party says, "Hit the road Jack!"

You mean like the billions of tax dollars in "contractual obligations" the Liberals have earmarked for their selected IPP friends
(Oh wait – that’s non-union. Damn union workers: buying homes, supporting families, spending money, driving the economy)
