Michael Smyth - it’s the economy, stupid.

Discuss the upcoming provincial election. Keep it civil in here, people. It's not the Political Arena.

Michael Smyth - it’s the economy, stupid.

One of the Dix's largest cheerleaders and Liberal hater has changed his tune. Drastically.

It looks like the electorate and a single member of the media is sobering up from the Dix pre-election party.

Michael Smyth wrote:Just over two weeks to go in the election campaign and Adrian Dix seems to have it made in the shade — except for one little problem.

As they say in the politics racket: it’s the economy, stupid.

Michael Smyth doesn't seem to be interested in traffic signals at all.

Michael Smyth wrote:As they say in the politics racket: it’s the economy, stupid.

Or, more specifically, an increasingly nagging worry a Dix government could be an economic drag on the province, if not a total disaster.

This is quite different from Smyth's previous cheerleading.

It's also A Change for the Better.

If Dix is elected by lying to the people and business nothing seems to change.

Michael Smyth wrote:This was all reassuring to Kinder Morgan, and to the B.C. business sector as a whole, who dared to hope a Dix government would not be completely hostile to private-sector investment and development.

But that was all before Earth Day, when Dix was struck with a bolt of green, carbon-neutral, organic lightning.

For more Dix waffling, flip flopping, studies and inquiries, commitments of lavish spendings on unions, taxpayer funded payoffs - watch tonights leaders debate.

Of course it's the economy and definitely not the driving habits of the candidates as one poster would like us to believe. People are starting to pay attention now to what counts, i.e. the economy, and that isn't good news for the NDP.

It's a good thing that Michael Smyth is asking the big question of Dix.

It's better to ask Dix now about his plans for the taxpayer than wait for his secret agenda to unfold.

Is Baldrey going to get his head out of Dix's butt now too? Maybe we'll finally get an impartial media during this election...

Considering the economy, Dix should vote for the Liberals to save himself.

Michael Smyth (to Dix) - it’s the economy, stupid.

Dix's vision of the economy: bloated public sector with Jim Sinclair as Labour Minister.

Borrow a few gazillion dollars to hire bureaucrats to study why we shouldn't let the private sector create jobs for BC families. At least those bureaucrats have jobs, right?

Jim Sinclair is not even running.
So cannot be Labour minister.

ANY government realizes the economy is important.
The NDP has succeeded in Sask. Man. And even B.C.

Stop the hysteria and help rebuild B.C.'s Economy, however possible.

How can you actually say his. They had Sask as one of the larger have not provinces and since being kicked out Sask have become a have province. In fact if I recall Sask actually re-elected the conservative option 49 of 58 majority in 2011 sending a clear statement the NDP were not desired, that was a re-election. After 4 years the NDP LOST more seats, and you still call them a Sask success?

Now I'm sure how that means you feel the economic destruction the NDP did before that was a success. I recall them killing forestry pretty good there, highways turning to crap, and the NDP shut down lots of hospitals.

Well, let's see.

Did a certain NDP premier bring in Healthcare. (Sask.)

Did a certain NDP leader win most of the sets in Quebec.

Let's try the NDP for Jack and Tommy.

Sorry, I'll rephrase.

What does an achievement from over 50 years ago have to do with the current BC NDP party having a vague and poorly planned fiscal policy today.

How does a couple old achievements make the party that has a far different set of ideals today comparably wonderful?

The answer is it doesn't, someone else great achievements (that are applauded) do not create a reason for a completely different group with no achievements or explainable plans to create any achievements, and the most recent chance they had (many of the same people) created nothing of real note.

So I have no idea how you put Tommy Douglas on the same level as Adrian Dix, the two don't compare. It's the same as saying "let's try Christy Clark for the sake of Jean Chrétien, there's no logic or sense to it.
