Discuss the upcoming provincial election. Keep it civil in here, people. It's not the Political Arena.

Good point! Might be very productive in that sense.

Around 80% of communication is non-verbal (non-vocabulary). In the real world this is made up through tone, inclination and body language. To some extent (and especially in some specific circumstances) tone and inclination can be sensed through the written word - this is why a few of us here can so easily recognize the changing and sharing of usernames by certain posters. In my personal opinion, emoticons and posted pictures for the most part enrich the communication experience on here. I know they can tend to be overused sometimes and by some posters but I would miss them. Just my opinion.

Make it invisible to rest of the forum. Invite all the political nuts - and allow them do whatever they want in there - call each other names, post smilies, go constantly off topic. If no one else can see it, may be they'll knock themselves out after few hours.

I remember someone said the skipping sheep smilie was her favourite of favourites, right Jo?

Rather proud of myself to have kept out of the political forums this time, but don't shut it down for at least a week or two, for all reasons mentioned above, weeping, wailing, recounts and "I told ya so's" to have their right a proper place.

Don't want that stuff leaking out into the main forum do ya?
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Just wondering if these threads will be archived for reference down the road or will it all be deleted permanent.I would like to see them archived.

I haven't decided whether to archive them or put them in the Landfill. Either way they won't be deleted. Archived means members can read them but not post, Landfill means they are completely out of sight. Most likely I'll archive them.

There is a lot of information in these threads that would be helpful to draw from for future debates as I'm sure it will not end on May 14 .So having them available to read but not post in, is to me the best thing to do.
