for seniors, they can access the GP for me program which is an initiative to help them find a family doctor.

an alternative for anyone is a video chat based service for BC residents that allows you to check in with a coordinator who will get you in to see a doctor via video chat either within a few minutes or sometimes a day later if they are busy. they can refer you to specialists and send lab requests and prescriptions. you can also see the same doctor online each time if you prefer. it can save a person time having to go to a clinic and wait, etc. and is quite easy to use once you learn how. it is https://medeo.ca/

I've done this a few times over the years when we've moved, and the answer is always yes. And yes, in each case they didn't show as taking patients. It's worth a try, at any rate.

I've thought about this but, to be honest, I haven't had anything to go to the walk-in for for about 10 years.

Can I go to a walk in for a prostate exam? I'm at the age when I should be getting one but don't have a GP to go to.

It's kinda funny as I am overweight and my wife, who isn't, keeps having ailments she needs to see a doctor for. So she has a GP, but the guy just pisses me off, hence I haven't seen him in 10 yrs.

Ironically, the clinic where my new family doctor works is now accepting new clients as the new doctor just moved in.
