Russias says NO to cancer-causing drug in meat.

This week, Russia imposed a ban on the import of beef, pork and turkey from the U.S., citing that the nation would not purchase any meat from the U.S. until the U.S. could guarantee its exported meat was not exposed to an animal feed additive called ractopamine.

Ractopamine hydrochloride is a drug fed to animals right up until they are slaughtered. Though the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first ruled the drug was safe 14 years ago, many nations including the European Union, China, Taiwan and Russia have banned ractopamine, due to concerns regarding the drugs impact on human health.

Sohow come we always allow crap in our food, but European countries and Russia say no?

Any ideas why it's like that?

Europe says no to GMO garbage.
We say YES, like a bunch of spineless wimps, that do anything big chemical companies want us to do.

A lot of the crap we eat causes cancer.

For example, we know pesticides cause cancer, so we try not to eat too much of them.
The government says there's a certai 'safe' level of pesticides we can eat and still be safe,
based on the fact that humans are amazing and cna eat some poisons without dieing. But
when we start adding all these chemcials together, then we have problems.

So why is it that other countries like Russia will not allow this cancer causing drug that is used
to increase profits, and we ere in Canada and USA allow it? Why are our scientists different to their scientists?

Ractopamine is a drug used to increase muscle mass in animals and known to cause cancer and neurological disorders in humans. Nearly every country in the world has banned its use, with the glaring exceptions of the US, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Thailand, and Brazil. But the US wants to sell its tainted meat and poisonous drugs outside the country, so they are pressing Codex Alimentarius to take a stand in favor of ractopamine, which trade agreements will force down the throats of the rest of the world.

Europe’s principled stand against the drug—and, believe it or not, China’s—will end. The entire world will be subjected to pseudo-science that finds no problems with ractopamine, so that Big Pharma and Agribusiness can continue to ratchet up the profits.

Some day the sheeple should grow a backbone, and tell the big drug companies and agribusiness - we don't want contaminated food anymore.

But it's actually good for us. Yes it is. We need more of it in our diet.

Yeah yeah - it's in very small quantities and so it's not bad for us.

BC fruit growers were told back in the 1980s that ALAR is actually a good growth regulator
to use on apples. They had all these ideas of how ALAR would increase profits for apple growers.
Then they found out ALAR in apple juice causes cancer. So they stopped using ALAR.

Ractocrapamine isn't necessary. It saves farmers a lousy $10.00 per animal? Europe doesn't want it.
Russia doesn't want it. Most of the countries on earth have banned it.

Let's stop messing around with our food - just so big drug companies and agribusiness can ratchet up their profits.
Let's contaminate our food with chemicals - ONLY WHEN NECESSARY.

The National Pork Producers Council tried to address concerns about ractopamine by noting that the levels in meat of this muscle growth promoter, which is fed to pigs in the form of Paylean™ and turkeys in the form of Topmax™, were below the limit set by the UN Codex Commission this summer. What they didn’t mention was that due to outstanding safety concerns, the Commission’s drug residue limit only passed by a single vote out of 143 ballots cast.

Studies over the last decade have shown that pigs on ractopamine may have chronically elevated heart rates, increased stress reactions, and difficulty walking. In fact the warning label reads: ‘‘Caution: Pigs fed PAYLEAN are at an increased risk for exhibiting the downer pig syndrome,” a condition in which pigs are too sick, injured, or exhausted to stand and may be dragged to slaughter by chains.
