B.C school mandates all ... wear latex gloves

Post by WeatherWoman »

B.C school mandates all teachers and students wear latex gloves in classroom

Ms. Pamela Millet is a vice principal at Henry Irving Middle School and is the mastermind behind the program she is calling "Kid Gloves."

"In order to stop the kids' grubby hands from spreading germs we have decided to make all students and staff wear latex gloves, " says Millet.

When asked if the school will be buying the gloves for each student, Ms Millet responded by saying: "Oh my goodness no, we can't afford to be doing that. Parents will have to supply their kids with the gloves."

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to maybe teach handwashing and sneeze/cough etiquette?

Just wash your hands, cheaper then suppling kids with latex gloves.

What about those with allergies to latex.

added: by the end of a day all those kids hands will be like raisins.

I would never buy my child gloves. Even with glove etiquette, they would be required to change gloves multiple times a day. Every time they start AND finish eating, everytime they go in OR out, every time they use the washroom, before and after.

Gloves aren't going to protect anyone unless you use them correctly.

I hate magic glove syndrome. This is when food workers (or anyone in a similar role) puts on those gloves, and then assumes they no longer have to wash their hands beforehand because the magic gloves will keep everything clean (even though I've witnessed several instances where the person makes my food and takes my money with the same glove). Hand sanitizer is almost as bad, in my opinion.

Wash your hands, please.

Apparently this article is a "satire"

Wish CBC would make it a little more clear.
