Well, hypothetically what could be the harm, especially in (adult) folks who have not found relief for PTSD symptoms by the usual means, in people going to a health/herbal foods store, and learning how to use raw natural cannabis?

Cannabis must contain THC and is not licensed for sale in Health Food Stores in Canada. CBD marijuana can be sold in Health Food Stores.

At the moment, THC Marijuana is only authorized for sale in Canada through the new Health Canada system authorized by the Liberals which is very similar to the old (Harper) System.

You mean the new health Canada system that is much like the system in place before the failed mmpr system that was put in place that tried and failed to remove patients right to grow.

The only thing kept from Harper's failed unconstitutional mmpr system is the corporate mmpr lps which will help supply medical and retail markets of purchased bud.

Like the regulations before the failed mmpr regulations put in by the old harper government, right to grow or have someone grow for you has been brought back.

Unfortunately the conservatives had to try and stomp on patients right to grow and force them to strictly buy from corporate lps instead of simply running the two systems side by side which ultimately is what has happened.

Right to grow and corporate lps...it's a beautiful simple solution...give the people options and don't take away patients right to grow!

There is so much education it seems that needs to be done regarding the health benefits of Cannabis. sloppy discussions don't help. I commented on the nutritional health benefits and hypothetical harms, and the response is about licensing and authorization (which we all know, pot sales are a criminal offense unless medicinal permits are in place).

So, back to the potential benefits of raw cannabis.

From Dr. Courtney:
“Whether Sativa, Indica, Ruderalis, male, female, hermaphrodite, native, feral, bred for fiber, seeds or medicinal resin, cannabis is the best source for [beneficial cannabinoids]...Over 50 patients have used only [cannabinoids] to put their cancer in remission; and over 150 have found symptomatic relief.”

https://www.leafly.com/news/health/a-di ... -cannabis/

Now we all know this is not a scientific study, but there are enough anectdotal stories out there for all sorts of possible benefits, that it seems silly to outlaw and criminalize the possession of a product that essentially does no harm unless the user processes and misuses it in a specific way.

We don't outlaw Lysol just because someone might think it fun to boil it up and make soup out of it. Or sodium , just because some people insist on putting it all over their meals and snacks, and in their drinks, to the point of causing high blood pressure. Or criminalize sugary foods just because a quarter of the population is in the process of developing diabetes. And now high sugar and carbohydrate consumption are also implicated in heart disease and obesity as well, but that's not going to stop the sales or overconsumption anytime soon.

No, if people misuse most products, we send them to the doctor and let the doc educate them about the evils of overusing or misusing otherwise safe products.

It is unfortunate that people making such claims do not identify which of the ONE HUNDRED types of cancer their information is talking about. Nor which specific mixes of THC/CBD they used in their tests. Nor what quantities were given and how they were given.

Most people agree that certain mixes of marijuana stop marijuana cells from reproducing or actually kill them when applied directly to the cancer cells. The problem is in finding a means of delivering the identified marijuana to the cancer cells when they are in situe in the body.

Bill Rogers

For advocacy and awareness about autism, a great new article appeared this week showing that Israel has started autism treatment with cannabis oil.

Thanks for sharing this jimsenchuk

In the United States as well as in Israel, CBD oil still isn’t recognized as treatment for autism - as mentioned earlier, we’re still pretty much relying on anecdotal evidence. But despite this, Eran says that in Israel there are already those who are already on medical cannabis prescriptions because no other medication has worked for them, and their symptoms are too severe and debilitating. The patients’ families are aware of this, but they have already reached a point of desperation and feel like they have nothing else to lose.

Marijuana has been proven time and again to be useful not just for physical ailments but it’s also been a pioneer treatment for many psychological conditions as well. As of today it’s already been accepted as a form of treatment for epilepsy as well as post-traumatic stress disorders. In fact, around 30% of autistic individuals suffer from epilepsy.

[..Sigh] Once again, this quote was a brief excerpt of a general comment, not a detailed review of all cancer cases that claim remissions. Since research has been prevented into such issues for over 50 years, it is going to take probably another 50 years to determine all the dosages, timing of treatment, which cancers might benefit most, etc First they have to show effect, then finding a means of delivering the medication to the right cells is another whole series of complex studies. Since research is still in its infancy, it would be surprising , well actually impossible, for them to have sorted all that out already.

Colorectal cancer, very common, how many people suffered or died, unnecessarily, because the research had not been done?

Should there be a legal age for buying and smoking pot?

The Canadian Medical Association says Canadians under 21 shouldn't be legally allowed to smoke pot, but studies on the effects of weed on developing brains are open to interpretation.

Man forced to eat marijuana (by police..I know, don't even ask), and does not even require medical treatment. Compare that potential harm to any other drug on the street. The "proven benefit" was he avoided going to jail. Interesting times we live in.

The New Cannabis Capsule Is So Powerful It Can Replace Any Pain Killer

The almighty health benefits of cannabis are becoming increasingly accepted in mainstream society and are being bolstered by numerous recent studies.

The Foria Relief Company has even invented a vaginal suppository, based on aromatic cocoa butter, which is a perfect substitution for Vicodin, Midol, and Ibuprofen. It effectively treats menstrual cramps by relaxing the muscles. Additionally, it does not lead to psychotropic property.
It is produced from pesticide and additive-free cannabis. Therefore, their active ingredients are used in a process without microbials and are combined with exact doses; 60 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and 10 mg of cannabidiol (CBD).

The pain is blocked by the THC, which inhabits the pleasure areas to the brains cannabinoid system. CBD relaxes the muscles, treats the spasms, and has a favorable effect on inflammatory mechanisms within the body.

According to a woman who tried the vaginal suppository, it relaxed her clenched and cramped muscles and soothed the pain in her midriff. She explained that she felt the area below the waist to the thighs “as if floating in some other galaxy”.

Yet, this amazing remedy is only sold in California and is still not approved by the FDA. However, if you decide to use it, make sure you consult your doctor beforehand, even though there have been no complaints from people who have tried it.

I think 21 is right for recreational, if sold in existing liquor stores i guess it wouldn't be that inconvenient that it 's 19 for booze as their policy is if you appear to be near that age they'll card you anyway-don't really know how diligent they are.
As far as medical under 21 it should be at the Dr's discretion. Taking the usual concerns in consideration like lenght of treatment, side effects, possible long term effects etc.
Lately there's been a lot of media on the long term effects of acetylsalicylic acid & ibuprofen found in many over the counter concoctions on liver damage and increased risk of heart failure. These products are pretty light weight for managing pain but they're also non addictive, i can see how people could overload on these over the counter drugs as many many people would rather suffer it out than take a known addictive drug.

I think there would be a problem with a law restricting some product to over 21 year olds. If it is permitted for all those over 22, and not other aged adults, that would be straight forward age discrimination, based on what? Once a person is an adult, they are entitled to the same rights as other law abiding adults. Otherwise we might just as easily say, no tobacco smoking for those under the age of 80, or no alcohol for those under the age of whatever.Driving for those under the age of 25 and over the age of 80 is higher risk, so that would be out.
