Alzheimer's Care
I think this is an excellent way to address care for those suffering with this disease.

Re: Alzheimer's Care
What an enlightened society.
Been doing a bit of research into alzheimers, because a friend is rapidly developing symptoms, hundreds of drug trials are going on and so far only one drug has made it to phase 3 testing.
Melatonin, appears to be the current best hope. Melatonin, which can be bought over the counter, is sold as a sleep aid.
Patients with early stage alzheimers appear to have improved memory, better sleep and better socialization.
Since we each produce melatonin, in decreasing amounts as we age, and alzheimers patients have an abrupt cessation in melatonin production tests indicate that early use of melatonin may inhibit the production of amyloid plaque. In patients that already have amyloid plaque, the melatonin is reported to reduce the symptoms.
Biggest problem is, because melatonin is an over the counter medication, and is not expensive, there is no interest by drug companies in further testing.

We're lost but we're making good time.
