Many people, me included simply do not have the money to use private doctors.
There are seniors who have to choose between vital medications and food, probably more than you like to acknowledge.
It has been demonstrated that a two tier system slows down everything in the public sector, private hospitals and private schools are an endemic problem in our society.
We're lost but we're making good time.

I still can't for the life of me understand your line of reasoning for not getting the xray. I need you to explain how not getting an xray does anything other than to prolong getting treatment.

Because he doesn't want to get the xray, find out that it is not life threatening, and then have to wait until his turn comes up. He would rather Wait first, then if it gets critical, he can get xray and more dramatic emergency scene where he is rushed in for surgery. Which makes him feel way more important that way. Then he has a dramatic story to tell his friends how his condition was "so bad" that he had to be seen right away.

In theory thats all great, but ive seen too many people that waited to long for medical treatment only to succumb to there condition. but to each there own. would make for a good Darwin award if things didnt go to plan

.....Been there, done that....now, tell the truth....did you not get the x-ray because you are afraid of the results or
is it truly because of the wait for treatment?

I lived it, didn't go to the Doctor, convincing myself it wasn't that bad. Didn't want to get bad news, if I didn't acknowledge it, it didn't exist. Two of my worst fears in life was Cancer & Surgery (being put to sleep). I knew I would probably need surgery for what I thought I had, and it would require being put to sleep.

Finally, it got too bad and I ended up in Emergency, after 6-8 hours of tests and x-rays I was told I had Cancer (slight chance it was something else) and had surgery at midnight. Four days later they found it was not Cancer, but I would need a second surgery in a couple months to further correct things.

I now see it as a blessing and gift, I had absolutely every kind of test you could have and am fit as a fiddle, no more worrying!
I feel like I am starting with a clean slate. Now I go to the Doctor and I tell the truth, not afraid of surgery any more....or of a Cancer diagnosis, unless of course if it was a severe terminal cancer......I think anyone would be afraid.

After all was said and done, I said to my friend that it had to happen that way. I couldn't have stood going for one x-ray, then wait, then go for an ultrasound, then wait, then go to a specialist, then more tests.....on and on. I am way too nervous for that, swear I would have had a nervous breakdown waiting and worrying!

This way, I went into Emergency on a Monday morning and was out on Friday afternoon with everything under control. And...no, in my case it wouldn't have made any difference if I had gone to the Doctor earlier, I would have had to have the surgery......but I saved myself a nervous breakdown!

I know I could have died....couple more days and I would have, but I was terrified....of Cancer, x-rays, medication ....didn't want to face any of it.

Probably not going to bother, if they find something will have frustrating two year wait for treatment.
Would rather leave it to become an emergency so that there will be no waiting, just treatment.

Don't make to drive to Kamloops to make you go get that blasted x-ray. Go get it. There may be no need for a two year treatment wait. And you know who will breath easier.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?
