I am wondering if the study on Bacon being worse than smoking, controlled for those who smoke? Maybe the kind of people who often eat bacon or meat preserved also tend to smoke, or drink more, exercise less, etc, or have other less healthy habits?
For instance are vegetarians healthier because they also tend not to be smokers and probably get more exercise etc.

I got a completely different take on thier findings. If eating bacon every day only has a 17% effect on your likelyhood of cancer, then eating bacon once a week has only a minuscule 2.5 % effect. Well within the margin of error.

So the study in a sense tells us it's completely safe to eat bacon every Sunday and that's often enough for me.

I think they just came up with this to hide the fact that Bacon has gone up 100% in price over the last year and a half.
Also, they now sell 375g packs for more than 500 gram packs were.

The smaller packaging is a result of it being bad for you, they want you to buy the smaller 375 gram packages so you don't eat so much because it causes cancer(NOT). Just another marketing scam to keep the price the same, but give you less. Then they raised the price of the smaller packages to more than the 500 gram packs were.
I will say this much, Bacon doesn't taste as good as it used to.

Dang it, I guess after I'm done spray painting urethane in a confined space, useing lacquer thinner
to clean that and the used motor oil off my hands, go for a smoke, have a beer, and brush my
teeth with Crest I'll have to dig through my old Freon powered cooling machine and find my Bacon
so as to throw it far, far away!!!
