Fitness Trackers

These things seem to be all the rage these days. Any recommendations? Winners? Duds?

I always hear about FitBit but I'm probably listening to shows that they've paid to advertise on.

Dance as if no one's watching, sing as if no one's listening, and live everyday as if it were your last.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Admittedly I don't understand the fit bit craze.

But I'm always a bit of a technophobe anyways.

What does the fit bit do other than tell you how many steps you took? It's not like you're taking more steps because of it, are you?

My fitness tracker is my wardrobe, what's getting a bit tight or hard to sit down in.
As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

The bathroom scale is an excellent fitness tracker as well.

I am looking at getting one for a gift for someone. I know there are lots on the market, but I am wanting to hear from people who have and use one.

I have been wrestling with the last bit of fluff on my midsection for some time now and had been using an app to track my calories and exercise. Nothing was happening and so I gave up. Enter the FitBit. As it turns out, the app (MyFitnessPal) was overestimating the amount of calories being burned. The FitBit Charge HR monitors my heart rate and allows a more accurate estimate of calories burned. Since I've had it, I've lost 1lb per week beause I am more aware of my body's calorie burn. Anything without the heart rate monitor was useless for me.

Exactly the same here. One of us, I won't say who, is always exercising......the other, not so much. It helps both.

I have a fitbit flex I got through airmiles, so it was freeish.

I can set up goals: set goals, weight goals, workout goals, calorie burn goals. I can enter different a bunch of different exercises. Has a food diary with calories which tell me how much I can eat to loose weight or maintain.

Gives you badges when you meet goals. You can challenge friends and join groups.

You have to work it for it to work. I have lost 50lbs in the last year that I have had it.
