Well I am sure they are taught about nutrition, and diet. The doctor's I have visited with clients are able to give educated and helpful diet and nutrition advice when needed.

If someone wants to learn about how diet and nutrition can make them better, they can do self education (you know, Google it) or can see a specialist such a nutritionist or a dietician.

And I am not going to Google it. You made a statement, it is your responsibility to back up that statement. But since you clearly don't want links in this topic, I will continue to take everything you say as your opinion and not fact.

So is a glass of Orange juice. What does that have to do with the flu shot and the topic?

Something that boosts your immune system could prevent you from catching flus, hence lessening the need for flu shots, which is the topic of discussion, in case you missed it.

Well the Flu shot does that so good enough for me. Then I don't have to bother with all that healthy crap.

I stand corrected, in the U.S for example, in all their years of training they're taught an average of 19.6 hours on nutrition. I know instead of a quick Google check you'll spend more time saying it's my opinion and you won't check it yourself so it is what it is.

I know lots of people who are into staying healthy through diet and exercise who rarely take meds or see a doctor other than for check-ups. I'm not following how big pharma loves these people, perhaps you can explain.

It’s a case-by-case thing, and no one should be taken to task for their decision in the matter.

I agree it can be case-by-case, yet you can still be blanketed under a group forced to get a shot, even if it can be deemed unnecessary or even harmful to you as an individual.

I have a compromised immune system and asthma. I'm also closest family to my elderly parents (who both have health issues) so it has been recommended for years that I get the flu shot. Since I've gotten the flu shot, I haven't gotten the flu. My winter illness is usually a cold that hangs on for a while. After about 2 months I usually go and get an Rx for a steroid inhaler and that will clear it up. (I'm on week 3 or so)

I eat well. I buy local when I can. I exercise. I garden in the summer. I have a naturopath. And I still get the flu shot. It is recommended, and it works. Even if I was convinced I wouldn't get it, why would I put my folks in danger?

It's probably good in cases such as yours, but I can hardly remember the last time I had a cold and haven't had a flu for several decades, so for someone to tell me I must have a shot or get sick seems completely unnecessary.

Garlic has more medicinal benefits than a flu shot, and though you can't find any bad effects of garlic other than you shouldn't give it to your dog or take it while pregnant, there are many negative reviews of flu shots in health magazines and by the doctors themselves. This makes me more convinced to stay healthy naturally with no side-effects. Why fix it if it ain't broke?

Well, I guess then that we will be easily able to identify those that haven't had the shot, and to avoid them.

My tonsils were also never removed when I was a kid and everyone else seemed to be having it done, because I was healthy. Though it was good for kids with frequent strep throat, in cases where it didn't happen it would have been foolish to have had them removed as they help fight getting sick, even though there was pressure to have the operation done the same way there are people today who think that everyone MUST have a flu shot or you'll get their family sick. I'm glad having tonsils removed and having flu shots helps some with their health, it's unreal how some will damn you for staying healthy when it's not staying healthy their way.
