Or maybe instead of wasting your doctors time for food recommendations you can google "food that helps boost immunity" or go visit someone that specializes in natural remedies, like a naturopathic doctor.

Your doctor didn't spend 7+ years in post secondary education to tell you about garlic. There is a lot of simple, holistic remedies that can be found online, in books and by visiting specialists if you are feeling fancy. Why waste your time, your doctors time, and the time of other patients by going to see them for non medical advice?

ETA: You know, being in my mid-twenties I don't even have a family doctor. The wait times at walk in clinics are insane, that is, if you can even get to one in time before they have seen their quota for the day. The fact that people like myself can't get into even see a doctor, let alone get a family doctor because some people feel they need to see their doctor to recommend garlic makes me scream.

People that take garlic still get the flu - not a high recommendation for those with compromised immune systems.
Truths can be backed up by facts - do you have any?

Google "garlic and immune system" then come back and tell me how something that boosts your immune system is bad for someone with a bad immune system.

That's because in that 7 years, they don't even spend a half day getting educated on nutrition or diet. Google it.

You do realize you're talking about two different circumstances. Never said it was bad either.

So is a glass of Orange juice. What does that have to do with the flu shot and the topic?

Yup, that's it. Eat huge amounts of garlic every day and no self respecting flu virus will even attempt to infect your body. Great, you stick with that.

It is ironic how little our medical system is willing to spend on prevention but when a pharmaceutical comes along a preventative flu shots they're all in. Could money possibly have something to do with it? Gee, I don't know.

Follow the garlic routine daily.....and not only will the flu virus stay away, but so will any other human that might be contagious or a carrier. So will any cashier, customer, mutual bus rider, tailgater, friends and family and bank tellers that might find themselves trapped in their security cage.

:smt045 Some unfortunate people cannot eat garlic without creating a pigpen like cloud of grossness around them, so please be considerate, garlic is not a prescription for everyone.

Isn't the flu shot a prophylactic and not a pharmaceutical remedy/cure? Our medical system does pay for the preventative shot and is robbing the big pharmaceutical companies of the money they would benefit from for supplying the symptom reliving medications.
There is much more money/profit to be made for the pharmaceutical companies on "over the counter" retail, symptom relieve medications than providing "the flu shot vaccine".
Therefore: Big pharma makes much more money on those that opt-out of the vaccine. They just love the anti-vaxxers, they are the backbone of their profits.
