Can't say I know a lot about the topic, but came across this interesting story about how a father helped his teenage autistic son:

I have a son with autism who will be 10 soon.
that is an amazing story. thank you for sharing. I've long thought about how he would react to a life on the road or without a permanent home base.
further comment coming when I think about it more.
