GF Strong rehabilitation
I broke my neck just over 2 weeks ago. Was flown to VGH for the operation and now waiting to be admitted to GF Strong. Would love to hear stories from those who have been there.

OH Treeguy that's awful!
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for you.
I'm sorry I don't know anyone who has been to GF Strong, but I hope many people come out with their stories for you.

As WW3 develops, no one is going to be dissing the "preppers." What have you done?

Holy crap treeguy, Nastv turn.
I have no experience with the place.
Am living proof though that our mind and body can overcome some
pretty substantial obstacles.
Fight off negative with all your might, no matter the source.

Get well soon!
My Wife asked me if I knew what her favorite flower was?
Apparently "Robin Hood All Purpose" was the wrong answer!

Good grief Treeguy, didn't you also have Lyme disease? Seriously, if anyone has earned the right to say "whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger", it's you in recent years.
I fractured my t7 8 years ago, had to take a year off work but have fully recovered. Didn't go to GF Strong but just wanted to let you know to stay positive, there are talented people who really know what they're doing and hopefully you can be back at it sooner than later.

Re: GF Strong rehabilitation
Wishing you a complete recovery TreeGuy! I have heard very good things about GF Strong rehabilitation from someone who went there and from the news stories done after Mike Harcourt injured himself some years ago and was treated there.
It's possible to do all the right things and still get a bad result.

Thanks for all the well wishes! Hope to be at GF Strong soon. I'm walking which is great. I just have very little use of my hands and arms. They have told me it is the fine motor skills that take the longest to come back.

Re: GF Strong rehabilitation
OMG Tree Guy! How awful.
GF Strong is amazing. My father had rheumatoid arthritis and was there for 6 months back in the 1970s. They had all sorts of assisting devices and custom make splints and such which were not available anywhere else. They did physio and occupational therapy that no other facility did.
They have always been regarded at one of the best rehab facilities in the country. A close friend of ours had a massive stroke last year and was there for several months. He had a great experience. He even said the food was good!
