Disposing and recycling an old refrigerator
Hi,
I have a 23 year old refrigerator that I would like to dispose. I don’t think disposing it on my own would be a good idea. I would like to have it recycled, should I call a recycling centre from Earth911 or a junk recycling company like junk-works http://www.junk-works.ca/. Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated. Thanks

If it still works you could post it in the free items on Castanet classifieds. Some are looking for a 2nd fridge for drinks. There are also single parents or low-income families looking for a fridge because they can't afford a new one.

You can call a disposal company to come to your house and pick it up, they'll recycle it for you. The cost is under $100. Just google "fridge disposal kelowna".

There is a new used appliance shop downtown. I think it's called Alex's appliances. It is corner of Ellis and Recreation (used to be Coyne automotive).
He might give you a bit of cash for parts or whatever
