Post by Pats stuff »

Where is a very good reliable place to have out of province vehicle inspections done. Don't want to be taken to cleaners.

One of the best things that you can do is to know your car. If you maintain your vehicle very well then you should be able to take to almost any reputable shop. Make sure that you have them prove anything they find and dont let them do any work without your permission. What kind of vehicle is it? Maybe take to the dealership. Look up reviews.

Try Rutland Auto.

Any cracks in the windshield?
Any tears in the drivers seat or frayed seat belts?
All lights work?
Windshield wipers and washer work? Good wipers?
All doors open and windows work? (inside handles and outside handles.)
Defrost works?
No MIL, ABS, SRS, or other lights on the dash, and working ODO?
Any rust holes?
Tires good? (i think min is 3.2mm.)

This is a basic easy to check things, that you can have done before you take it to a shop. There is new rules on the glass for cracks, but some shops may stick to the no cracks for the windshield.

Call Lyle at Rutland Auto, best price and best place.. Period!
Also, take all the advice from the above post, do anything you can first.
There is zero tolerance to a windshield with a crack impeding the drivers vision, just so you know.
