Need Plantar Fasciitis Shoes for Father
My father is a diabetic patient and his doctor suggested him to exercise daily specially jogging in park or any good relaxing environment. Recently my father diagnosed with plantar fasciitis problem and simple running shoes is creating pain while jogging. We asked for doctor, he recommended to buy shoes with arch support plantar fasciitis that have specially created for diabetic patients that have orthotic insoles with good cushioning support.
I am looking for suggestions from where I can buy this type shoes or which one is good for him.

There are insoles to help deal with plantar fasciitis or perhaps have an orthotic made.

There is something that can be done for your Father, dirt cheap and easy.
Get a tennis ball. Roll the affected foot over the ball.
This will hurt like blazes the first but keep it up. Roll roll roll. Put a touch of weight on it.
It took me only a week before I had 'stretched' the tight tendon to the point where
I forgot I had an issue. My Fasciitis (spur) was almost 1/2", and still is but I'm good now and
have only mild issues and usually only after being off my feet for sometime (like sleeping).
Do this roll thing every time you have sat, stood or slept.
Past that, for shoes that are amazing for this , try COOPERs Medical behind Canadian Tire
and grab a pair or 2 of OOFOS. These sandel type slip ons are like walking on marshmallows with
amazing arch support.
You have to manipulate the bottom of the foot or the pain will never go away no matter what shoes.
It hurts at first. It works. Dirt cheap. Only takes a minute. Travels well. IT WORKS everytime.... every single time.

Similarly, instead of a tennis ball (which would take 2 people) take a short piece of dowel, about the same diameter as a coke bottle, put it on the floor and let Dad roll out the problem himself. That way he can self regulate as to how much time and discomfort he can tolerate.
The size of a rolling pin is good, just don't use a glass one. He may need the assistance of a walker to help stabilize himself while doing this, it will also allow him more time and more pressure to be applied..
I would like to hear back about the progress. Good luck.

To the poster right before this one...
Why do you say the ball takes 2 people?
You stand or sit, all by yourself and put weight on the ball with the
affected foot and roll it. Unless I did it wrong. It is a solo sport.
Plus the ball has a touch of softness and give to it and rolls from
side to side and back and forth with ease.
I've never ever seen anyone that can not do this alone and the oldest was 88 to date.
He sat on a chair and rolled it under his foot.
But if using rolling pin is what you do then okay so be it, not everyone has tennis balls laying around.
Thing here is that you can find relief without great expense then that is all that matters. Balls or pins, it all works.

if the budget and/or extended health plan allow, a podiatrist may be able to recommend the best solutions
