China skins live animals

Postby French Castanut » Oct 19th, 2011, 9:09 pm

China's fur industry skins live animals.
That practice, known by few, needs to stop.

I can't call that cruelty, since it's even worse than that.

My Chinese friends say that things are quite different over here, especially in the area of environmental stewardship and animal welfare. Not every country and culture has the same morals we do I've learned.

To Maththetraveller
You are young and maybe you don't know about a lot of cruelty against animals around the world ( not just in China ).
Go check IFAW ( International Fund for Animal Welfare ) and WSPA ( World Society for the Protection of Animals ).
Remember ... the world is cruel. You cannot singled out just one country in particular.

Cruelty to animals is a relative term, really. China lives in a different time.

This is true, it's so brutal how many countries are still living by their "old" customs.

Shark finning is world wide and absolutely disgusting. It's starting to get more attention now, recently Missisauga, Ontario has recently banned the importation of shark fin products.

Let's hope that with more education the youth movement worldwide will bring an end to all of these horrible customs.

awesome - that means more lobster for me! Yum yum...

I have to LOL at this thread and how naive people are - people are so sheltered in this day and age, even with the internet - travel a bit and see the world - you'd be amazed at all of the crazy and disgusting things you'd see.
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

*removed*/ferri I didn't say you had to like it - what I am LOL'ing at is the shock that people are expressing - like just because this sort of thing doesn't happen here it must mean it doesn't happen anywhere, and if people are still doing it elsewhere they are evil barbarians. Are they wrong? Yup. It's just plain awful. But how can you be shocked that they are doing it? How can you be so naive and sheltered?

I would like to know why people react differently when they see theses things done on animals, than on the little girl that was run over?

So, it's worse if we harm humans? It's okay to harm animals?

And @quarsar... to even make fun of it?

What seems cruel to one..is business as usual for others.

Well, there is a HUGE difference between skinning DEAD animals, than LIVING ones.

So you say it's ok to do that to animals, because they have to sell their fur clothes?

Because business is business?
