At 4:20 pm today I was not on Castanet. Weird. I was on the sofa wishing I had munchies, but I don't smoke weed. Weird. I was also enjoying a movie in a day and age when I could rent it and not suffer through commercials. WEIRD.

Nothing particularly special about that date. I googled April 21st simply for something to do and there are a number of bad things happened on that date throughout history as well.

At 4:20am the other night I was in the tim hortons drivethrough and the minivan in front of me smelled like a grow op.

420 has no real origin... I believe it started in the states at a highschool from all that I have read.

BUT it is certainly an adopted part of Cannabis Culture! And I do believe cannabis culture is a strong community that should be acknowledged.
