Improvements to Castanet classifieds

A veritable potpourri. Everything but the kitchen sink goes here. Sometimes even the kitchen sink.

I see 662 ads right now in the adult clothing section for the Kelowna edition. Perhaps you are looking at Penticton or Vernon edition of the Classifieds.

Oh my, Kelowna is really risqué comparing to Vernon or Penticton.

People should not be able to advertise puppies as "christmas puppies" this to me screams PUPPY MILL and unethical breeding. Pet sales should be monitored better as there are people claiming to know the eye color of puppies that are only 2 weeks old and that is just scamming. I know it would be hard to watch everything but with the overflow of dogs in rescues we should be helping the SPCA this way.

It would be helpful if we could sort through the real estate ads with our choice of highest to lowest price or vice versa, and also if we could choose the listings by most recent submission so as not to have to peruse all the ads to find the newest listings.

Um, what happened to the farm food area?
Why only fruit and nuts?
I don't see why a person can't advertise their eggs or meat if they mention that it's gov't inspected and give the name of the licensed abattoir. How are people supposed to sell their stuff now?

Note that the right wing is diametrically opposed to the left wing, but otherwise identical.

I would like there to be a section in the classifieds for "party supplies" for birthday stuff or office party supplies. It would be great to have a section to find stuff like that. thank you.

Hello.

I feel the "Home Improvement" section needs to be improved greatly.
The title should be changed to "Home Improvement and Woodworking". The first time I tried to find a woodworking section it took me a while.

I believe the "Lumber Section" should be directly after the "Home Improvement" category. Currently it is buried and is suited to Carpentry tasks rather than Carpentry and Joinery.
(Castanet Classifieds > Marketplace > Home Improvement > Lumber)

This is all I have right now. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

People shouldn't be allowed to sell 'puppies' period. A single puppy or dog, fine. But when you have a litter to sell they're most likely from a puppy mill which is wrong and illegal.

Instead of having a Kelowna edition, a Vernon edition and a Penticton edition, have one edition with a place to select the location of the item for sale. Searching all three editions is a pain.

a "wanted" section unto its own, not at bottom of each category.

hey, I was thinking that all the automotive sections could be put in one place. all the other sections could have a link to the main auto page. IE service, parts etc.... It would make navigation easier, or possibly vice versa adding a link from the main auto page to the other sections. I'm on the auto sections everyday, as I'm sure allot of other people are. I think It would also promote more views of everyone's adds. Thanks so much to castanet, love it so much, fantastic job.

Charging the employer to run an ad in our sluggish economy is not an improvement. You are making it even more difficult for the small businessman to survive here in the Okanagan where our unemployment rate is the highest in the country and every single business owner and employee have taken massive pay cuts of up to 50% and more. The small businessperson just cannot afford to pay pay pay when they are not getting much business. Clients all say "crunch your numbers" and come back with a LOWER quote, now you say PAY PAY PAY MORE!! SHAME ON YOU FOR YOUR GREED IN TIMES OF RECESSION! If you think you're not greedy, what do you think you are doing? KICKING PEOPLE WHO ARE DOWN!!

Hi Troy,

FREE ADVERTISING STILL EXISTS IN THE OKANAGAN even though castanet is not free anymore.

Hope you publish this list of agencies in the Okanagan that DO NOT CHARGE THE EMPLOYER TO ADVERTISE FOR STAFF:

Service Canada Job Bank
thompsonokanaganjobshop.ca
bcjobs.ca
bowmanemployment.com
cbdnetwork.com
vdiss.com
pimbc.ca
