Web page doesn't stop loading
I've noticed something curious the last 24 hours or so. Most of the time, when I go to any page in the forums, the page loads but the little green circle on the Firefox tab keeps going round and round... and never stops. It's like the page doesn't finish loading.
In the lower left corner of the browser, it gets stuck on "Transferring data from x.castanet.net..." Just hangs there.
Did I break something?

You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not use reason to arrive at.

Re: Web page doesn't stop loading
I've noted that as a very regular occurrence, along with staring at a blank page that's supposed to load.
Only on my Castanet home page though, not any of the others.
Sometimes I can overcome it by pressing the stop button, and trying again, which often then makes it load instantly.
Very annoying really.

Re: Web page doesn't stop loading
Im using Internet Explorer 8, and for the last 2 weeks or so, I'm getting "An add on for this website failed to run, check the security settings in Internet Options for potential conflicts" when a page loads, or if I go back a page or two.
I did notice if I do a search in Google, view web pages that it found, and then click the back button to the Google home page, the Google page never loads, and is blank until I "X" it out.
I noticed some changes on other sites as well, I think it's all about all the "Add-ons" these guys are adding to their web pages.

I have had that problem happen to me before. The latest was just a couple of nights ago, when our hosting provider was having networking issues. The fix for me was to clear my web browser's cache.
Try that first and let me know how you make out.

As for add-ons, the only one we use on a regular basis is Adobe Flash Player. The only exception to that is our old Christmas music player and that only went up on our main page on Monday of this week.
I'll do some research and see what I can find to help with that error, "An add on for this website failed to run, check the security settings in Internet Options for potential conflicts", you are seeing.

Worked like a charm. Sonofagun. Good to know for the future. Seeing that little green circle go round and round was driving me bonkers.

That's great! I'm so glad that fixed the problem and thanks for updating us.

A couple of our servers are having problems tonight, starting just before 7:30pm, and one of them has been fixed so far. I'm expecting the other one to be back up any time now. We still have other servers handling the load, but these problems could very well explain what you've been seeing.

OK, sound like you're on top of it as usual.
