Well for what it's worth, though it may seem sufficient on the face of it, I've noted numerous times where selecting just one quote to reply to either allows for things to be taken out of context, or they simply don't make sense at all, as what you are replying to might well have been a person's reply to someone else, without which the train of thought just does not flow.

I suppose the next thing on the agenda will be a 50 character per post limit? O:)

If people can't figure it out, then they won't figure out the point you're trying to make either. It isn't rocket science. Try swimming in the deep end for a change, folks. ;-)

For the people who don't like the change, I know you'll figure out workable solutions in no time flat. It's not nearly as awful as you think. In the meantime, the threads are finally clear of 1/2 page posts with irrelevant and endless nested quotations (usually followed by a one-liner). Nested quotations serve no purpose whatsoever.
