that's just silly, and uncalled for. Now I'm supposed to take you seriously? I guess there was little hope of that anyway...

maple leaf wrote:You are the one that was complaining about those wanting to stop the pipeline, and having no other solutions to having it built,in order to distribute the oil..

I was pointing out for the umpteenth time that the NDP, especially the extremely crappy version we have in this province, is the "can't do it" party. No matter what is proposed - it can't be done!! We have to stop it. All the losers of the current BC NDP spew is negativity and nonsense. This appeals to a certain portion of our population, and that's cool. But the rest of us, deserve better government than that. The BC NDP just plain sucks.

wow - you really should just stop now. You realize that Valero has invested billions and billions of dollars in capital investment right? They don't just create money out of thin air. You seem focused on the money Valero makes, with zero concept of how they got there. So I'll ask the questions yet again that no one here is answering:
1. Who is going to build the Canadian refineries?
2. Where is the capital going to come from?
3. Do we even need these refineries (H/T to Nab for his research showing that NO we don't)
4. Where are we going to build them?
5. How are you going to silence the nutjobs that you know will oppose these refineries? Margaret Atwood, David Suzuki, The Sierra Club, It's all about the Green-Peace, WWF, and every other fund-raising organization out there that fights anything and everything oil related, for no other reason than to perpetuate the myth that they are "doing something" to justify the hundreds of million of dollars they take in in "donations" every year. It's just not going to happen.

maple leaf wrote:Take the pipe line out of the equation and the oil giants will find a better way to deal with their oil, .

You still won't say what this means. It just makes no sense.

maple leaf wrote:that won't destroy BC in the process like the currant plan of the pipe line and tankers undoubtably will destroy BC ..

So now one pipeline is going to destroy the entire province. Wow. How do you expect people to listen to you if you just keep upping the hyperbole like this? "Undoubtably" - is that even a word?

maple leaf wrote:If building refineries turns out to be a better way than the pipeline, (to get the oil to market ) then good
or if they come up with a different solution better yet,But as long as the pipe line idea is on the table they will never come up with a better way.

The "oil refinery" idea is nonsense. They aren't needed, they'll do just as much or more environmental damage as a pipeline ever would, and no one is going to commit the capital to building them, even if by some miracle you could get environmental approval. I have said time and again, I get the whole "we don't want tankers going into Kitmat". I get that. But it's just plain stupid to say that there aren't other options for pipelines and tanker ports. And other options that are actually viable and not crazy, like an oil refinery, that will never ever happen.

Sound just like you as you respond to any idea coming from the left.

Now that is the best laughable moment of my day.Coming from the king of hyperbole himself. And yes undoubtable is a word,I see you don't look in the dictionary either. The rest, you are entitled to your opinion, even if it is meaningless nonsense drivel.

I'm glad we can both make each other laugh. If your idea of covering Canada in oil refineries isn't the definition of "meaningless nonsense drivel" then I'm not sure what is.

Now to get back on topic of the original post.
British Columbians. Act on this now

#NorthernGateway #BCpoli #Cdnpoli -

Do you live in British Columbia? You may remember this post.

Well Robyn Allan received a reply from Christy Clark's office. Apparently Christy's pretty busy reorganizing her political stripes.

So, her minions, Ken Boosenkool, et al, forwarded Allen's letter off to the former mayor of Kamloops, now the BC minister of environment. Allow me.
From: Office of the Premier
To: Robyn Allan
Friday April, 27, 2012
cc Minister of the Environment, Honourable Terry Lake

Subject: BC’s Right to Environmental Assessment Needs to be Reclaimed

Thank you for your email, and attached letter addressed to the Honourable Premier Christy Clark, regarding the proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline. Your comments relating to the environmental review process currently being undertaken by the National Energy Board (NEB) and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) Joint Review Panel have been noted.

We appreciate the time that you have taken to share your views and insight with us and have forwarded your correspondence to the Honourable Terry Lake, Minister of Environment, for his review and consideration as well. You can be assured that the specific points you have raised in your letter will be included in related discussions between Minister Lake, members of his senior staff and officials in the Provincial Environmental Assessment Office.

 Again, thank you for writing.
You can understand that this "brush off" by Snookie (I'm-A-Right-Winger-And-I-Know-The-Ferry-System-Better-Than-Anyone-Else) Clark and her former Enbridge lobbyist is cause for some concern.

OK. It's not. It's time to hold their feet to the fire. Robyn Allan is worried and so should you be. Allan wrote this:

Dear Dr. Lake,

The Premier’s Office has replied to me and indicated that my letter to Premier Clark has been forwarded to you.

I am following up with you as the reply indicates that you will review and consider the letter and discuss the points with your officials.  However, it does not confirm that you will address my comments in a reply to me.

I would appreciate it if you could please confirm that after you have had a chance to review my letter with your officials that you will be responding to the specific points in my letter directly in a reply to me.

Sincerely,

Robyn Allan

cc Premier Christy Clark
This is "round filing cabinet" country to the Harperistas that have penetrated the BC government. So, Allan has this simple request.
Please write Dr. Lake, and copy Premier Clark,  requesting that the Province inform the Federal Government that BC’s right to review and decide on Northern Gateway is being reclaimed.
I'm going to do that. If you give a damn about this province and your right to determine what will be done to it, you should too.

Dr. Lake’s email address is ENV.Minister@gov.bc.ca

Premier Clark’s email address is Premier@gov.bc.ca

Unless you're OK with Harper deciding what happens in your province without you having a voice and nobody should be happy with that.

Does every NDP cheerleader have their own blog these days? Man there just is no end to these whiners.
