Canada Flag on Bridge/Overpass?
Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows why there isn't a Canadian flag placed on either the bridge or the new overpass in West Kelowna. The only noticeable flags in this city are the 2 right beside each other by the mall. As Kelowna is a very tourist city, I don't see why there isn't a flag to represent our country, especially on the new overpass where all the visitors pass through. Thanks.

I guess most know where they are and don't require a flag or its associated maintenance costs as a reminder.
If you want to see a flag put up a pole on your own property and have at it.
Simply doesn't strike me as a prudent use of resources.

Good point. Never really noticed that. Do other bridges have flags on them?
Come to think of it, don't remember seeing any Canadian flags in Kelowna.
Why not call the Kelowna MP and see what he thinks of your idea?

There are plenty of Canadian flags around Kelowna. Look around you'll see them.
There is a Canadian Flag at every school in the city. City Hall, Regional District office, RCMP Detachment on Doyle, School Board Office, RCMP Southeast District offices, Superstore, the post offices, Firehalls, many hotels, Prospera Place, memorial arena.....
I think, therefore we are different.

Why should we put flags on bridges?
Flags are on all federal & provincial buildings. If you want to see a flag town, make a trip to Ottawa. They're on every building you see.

So it wouldn't bother you to see one on the overpass then......
