Vancouver Mayor spends $100G's on London Olympic Party
Vancouver taxpayers are spending $100,000 for Mayor Gregor Robertson and some other members of the Dix Farm Team to "synchronize with the London Olympics" for an "economic development mission".
Don't forget that Gregor's promise to his electorate was to end homelessness.
The old "sharing a room" to keep costs down ploy. Open the minibar boys! It never hurts to rub shoulders and shake some hands....gets conversing started.....
However the "business trip" to the London Olympic games will keep Mayor Gregor Robertson from marching in the Vancouver Pride Parade.

Don't forget that Gregor's promise to his electorate was to end homelessness.
The mayor’s office said Robertson and Mike Magee (the mayor's 'right hand man") are sharing a hotel room to keep costs down.

Despite the high costs, Robertson said the trip is worth the money to raise the city’s profile.
“It is all about showing up where there is a concentration of business leaders and the Olympics is a regular gathering and an opportune time to get in and make sure Vancouver is part of the scene,” he said.
However the "business trip" to the London Olympic games will keep Mayor Gregor Robertson from marching in the Vancouver Pride Parade.
“I’m very disappointed I won’t be able to take part,” Robertson said in a statement. “The parade is always a highlight of my rear, and this is the first time in eight years I won’t be walking in it.”

Seems that Gregor has forgotten that Gordon Campbell is Canada’s High Commissioner to Britain. Wonder if the Glee Road Show will hook up with Gordo on "the mission".

I expect Magee is his "left hand man", as there's nothing "right" about that lot of Comrades. And Grams, you beat me to that Freudian typo! Excellent! :dyinglaughing:
I just saw Adrian Dix on TV, but I could only see one of his ears because he was too far to the left.

Gee, just think ... Robertson may not have to miss the "highlight of his rear" ... two a-holes together again :D

I happened to see Gordo at the opening ceremonies in London, funny the camera paned very quickly passed him. lol

Raise the profile of Vancouver? To whom? And did not a major event happen there just say, recently? Like, oh, I don't know, The Winter Olympics? Like the profile isn't raised high enough, ya gotta spend $100,000 to raise it some more?

Socialist Gregor can just pick the money from his pal Adrian's Magical Money Tree. No problem.

You'd think that during the pinnacle of crapdom casused by BC MLA's abusing their expenses and story after story of taxpayer abuse, self rewarders like Gregor would curtail their international funesta's.
Going to London on the taxpayers dime shows you how much politicians like Gregor like to play silly bugger.

"I tell ya Adrian, this political gig pays off in spades. You'll scoop so much money that you'll be able to buy a shirt that actually fits ya."
There's no cause for alarm in the NDP ranks. I have it on good authority that if the polls get too close, Adrian Dix will back date them to April '13.

So then I say to the other mayors - maybe we should punt these Occupiers out of all of our parks, because they are costing us a lot of money, making a hell of a mess, and do not have the support of almost anybody in this "protest" thing they got going. But then I said "We're socialists! Of course we're going to do nothing about this until we've spent the maximum amount of money possible!" You know what I'm talking about right Yellow Jello?
The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

SO I assume you all are just as outraged at Christy Clark stealing half a million dollars for herself too? :127:

Of course. Who in their right mind likes Christy any more? Actually, anyone in their right mind didn't like her from the start.
And nooooooooooooooo .... that doesn't mean I like Dix, either. He's a wishy-washy panty-waist.

Why is it that once politicians are elected and become ministers, it seems they think there is a bottomless pit of money, our tax money, for them to spend. As much as I have to be frugal and live within a budget, so should they. And it all has to be transparent. Maybe in their "monthly reports" (call it propaganda) they publish in the local papers as to how "wonderful" they are, a statement of expenditures should be included. At least then we know were "our" money has been spent on. It also allows us to question them. Although you may not get an answer.
