Earthquake hits Queen Charlottes

Post by Bsuds »

I think we just had an Earthquake. We have several hanging lights and they were swinging away. Didn't feel anything but stuff certainly moved.
Anyone else notice anything?

I'm in a downtown highrise and the place was swaying for a couple of minutes.

Things on my walls were swaying for a good number of minutes, apparently there was 7.7 in Prince George!

Two large quakes off the BC Coast, close to the Queen Charlottes...tsunami warning for Prince Rupert and that area. Was felt as far inland as Terrace (two hours from the coast).

Hopefully it's a "P" wave quake than there is no tsunami, unfortunately still a great deal of damage.
